"malpe, st. mar\'s"

Malpe Experience: We had a great time in malpe, as i knew the routes through sakleshpur will give a bumpy ride so we went hassan-belur-mudigere- charmaadi-belthangadi this route. even though this route is quite longer. charmaadi ghat will refresh you like anything, spend some time in ghat it will be unforgettable for sure . activity we can do in malpe is water sports in beach, but its available in only some seasons, everybody should visit St. mary's island a boat will take you to this island from malpe beach. nice place but this place is too hot in afternoon, so carry umbrella if u dont wnt to expose to sunshine. udupi Lord Krishna temple is a famous religious place which is 8 km from malpe beach.if you are a fan of seafood then explore the variety cusine.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Famous for its typical udupi style veg food and sea food. KT is a type of tea, tea lover's should taste it. decorative items made of sea shells will be good idea shopping, st. mary,s island is must place to visit, people who interested in making decorating items using sea shells they can collect a wide variety of sea shells.
Activities & things to do: Water sports in malpe beach, udupi lord krishna temple visit st. mar\'s island visit
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Try to skip hassan, sakleshpur, mangalore route and use hassan, belur, mudigere, charmadi route, be careful in malpe beach, if you are playing be in group, children should take care specially.

"Footprints on the sands of time"

Malpe Experience: Its the third time I'm visiting Malpe in the past 8 years. The warm beach, the cool waters, the sun overhead and the pleasant wind gives me the ultimate joy of sea waters. Be it with your spouse or a bunch of friends, Malpe is the place to be for the best memories of your year.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Malpe is a kilometer away from Manipal. If you're with your spouse, do not miss the manipal end point. Considering you're out there with your pals, its best if you get into your shorts and hit the beach and DO NOT MISS the parasailing. What more? All your water sports, beach volleyball, manipal eat-outs...
Activities & things to do: Parasailing, Banana ride, Bumpy ride, Speed boat, Boat house for a couple, Jet ski, Trekking, River rafting in Seetanadi, Beach volleyball and cricket, Tour at the harbour, St Mary's island for the lovely rock formations.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: To reach--- A kilometer from Manipal, 8 hours from Bangalore and a step away from the Arabian Sea!!!

"Malpe wild beach, crystal clear sand, warm water, but no"

Malpe Experience: Crystal clear sand, warm water, but no beach facilities, and many locals staring at you especially if white woman laying on the sand and taking sun bath :-)
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We have been in Malpe beach only. There is only one bar to eat. Tastefull noodles and orange fruits. Ask juice without sugar and without ice !!!
Activities & things to do: There is possible straight from the beach go by speed boat to St. Marys island, but expensive !!!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: To Malpe beach we go from Udupi by public regular bus from Udupi bus station. Cheap, fast and normal. Recommended. We back by same way stopping regular bus by hand... :-)

"Coastal Bliss"

Malpe Experience: Trip to Malpe was planned spontaneously for me at least. I was in Port Blair when my friend called me and asked me if I'll join her for this trip to Malpe and adjoining beaches. I came back from Port Blair on Tuesday and left for Udupi, which is 6 kms from Malpe, on Friday evening. To be very honest I was expecting a typical beach holiday of swimming in the beach all day, lazing around, however Malpe, Kapu and St. Mary's have so much more to offer. This is neither swimming nor a strolling beach, we swam and strolled anyways, It's a beach to be gazed and wondered at; and it's the only one of its kind in India, to just gaze at the majestic ocean and the sunset is mesmerizing. This beach is quite different. It's a long, broad, town beach, undeveloped but likely to grow. The light House at Kapu beach offers breathtaking view of the majestic ocean and graciously swaying palm trees. The endless stretch of golden sand, , the clear blue sky and the gurgle of the sea all set the perfect mood for an unforgettable holiday here.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There's not much to shop here, however the food is absolutely awesome. Situated right on Malpe is Paradise Isle, which has a very nice restaurant and offers great food. Continental is the best that I liked there. They also make some awesome fish curry. Catch a bus to Manipal which is 5 kms away from Malpe, and you will find numerous eating joints that offer amazing food. My personal favorite was 'DeeTee' with great ambiance, good old rock playing while the food was being served. Breakfast at Vikram's is highly recommended. You can also experience some night life while there with some decent night clubs playing recent hits.
Activities & things to do: You can visit the famous Manipal University. There is no water sport available at these beaches however you can see a water scooter every now and then in the name of water sport, watching the sunset is must. Visit Light House on Kapu beach, excellent view. St. MAry's Island is justa boat ride away. Rent a scooter or a bicycle, easily available, and take a ride around the area. Just being there relaxes your nerves.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Carry walking shoes and a pair of bathroom slippers. Carry cotton clothing as it tends to get really hot. Air Mangalore is the nearest airport. Rail Mangalore is the nearest rail head. Road Udupi is 6 kms and Mangalore is 66 kms by road, from the town. The sea is very rough and swimming is strictly not recommended.
