"Matheran Most beautiful place to visit"

Matheran Experience: Matheran is known for its uniqeness as it is a hill station., we really enjoy ourselves at Matheran cause its keep you away from noise and pollution which we faced everyday.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: food quality is spot on. we enjoy our food., we get any kind of food. all points are really good but Eco point i like most.

Activities & things to do: Horse riding., ball knowking, walking on clay with your bags and your family

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: its very easy to reach through railway; from Mumbai board in Karjat train, and board out at Neral Station. from neral station you have two options., one is heritage mini train and other is road way. by road way omni's are waitiing outside railway station and they carry you.

Matheran Experience: The weather is almost always moderate and so very healthy. Yes. Matheran is the place to go for day outings, for busy Mumbaikars. And also for longer stays, of course.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We always buy a bit of chikki, clothes or fugde or channa, handicrafts, fruit etc to support the local businesses.

Activities & things to do: trekings ,valleycrossing....etc

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: As Saturday was a holiday for many working people, it was planned to leave in the early morning. we decided to return back on monday evening.we reached bhandup station caught a train from bhandup station and got down at NERAL STATION ..To my surprise after reaching NERAL NO ONE HEADED TO BUY TICKETS FOR TRAIN and the train journey from Neral to matheran by a mini train was awesome.

Matheran Experience: Located at the heart of the Matheran. Best in its class, climate of matheran is favourable and we can enjoy in winter season as well in rainy days.also we can see the TV actors and film actress moving around the matheran echo point etc. Also we can enjoy Horse riding, all the facilities are located near the Hotel Kumar Plaza.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: As Hotel Kumar Plaza is located at the no.1 location of Matheran, we can enjoy the sight seeing directly thru our naked eyes from the windows of hotel. Also market is nearby for purchasing and visiting different types of shops.

Activities & things to do: good for family and for honeymoon purposes, and for Meeting purpose to promote our products and expand our team units, also for engagement parties.as well as get together.

Matheran Experience: One of the best hill station in Western India. Wheather is good. Especially in summer the temperature in Matheran is less than in the valley. Since there are no vehicles allowed within Matheran the place is safe from pollution. Even though horses are available for transport it is better to walk.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food at Shabir Bhai - Biryani was good. One should visit all the seven points (Belverde point to Alexander point) and the 12 pooints on the other sider starting from Echo Point till Percupine Point. One tree hill point, Little Chowk point,Louisa point and percupine point (sunset point) are the best. However one of the best was Garbet point. Not many people visit this point however one can hire a guide. Its near to the railway station and one of the best. Shopping: Hats, Chappals.

Activities & things to do: Sightseeing is the best activity to do in Matheran.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Getting tickets for the Toy train is a challenge. One cannot get the tickets online so have to stand in queue. However people just get in the queue and create chaos.

Matheran Experience: Matheran is quite good but need to be cleaned. Regal resort is excellent.Red sand is attraction part of matheran. must go in july or december

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Madhavji point, navroji garden and eco point .

Activities & things to do: Photography.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Mumbai to matheran just 120 km far away.. Go with train or by car.

Matheran Experience: One Of The Best Hill Stations Nearest To Mumbai. Temp Differrence Of Upto 10� c Cooler Than Mumbai & Suburbs.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Chikki & Fudge.. Esp Mango Fudge.

Activities & things to do: Its Has Some Game Shops For Legal Gambling.. And Many Games For Kids Too

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Neral To Matheran Go By Taxi If You Dont Want Timepass. If You Want Timepass & Site Seeing Go By Train. Taxi Goes In 1/2 Hr While Train Takes 2 Hrs.

Matheran Experience: The overall experience is very good with the family in matheran but the weather was hot when we were there,but there were no transport and vehicles means no pollution and that is the best weather of climate.

Matheran Experience: Matheran is superb and reasonable place to visit during monsoon and winter.Not preferable at summer.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Dinner was ok,Snacks were sad.

Activities & things to do: We would have njoy dj floor coz it was greatly decorated if there were lots of people to dance.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Do not feed foods or open any food items or tease monkeys coz they will gather and create nuisance.Bargain rates of horseride coz its expensive but neccesary for those who cant walk for a long distance.

Matheran Experience: This is a cool and cozy place to stay.all we have there are the points to see.but the more important thing is there are no vechiles and polution which i like the most quite good place to stay in natures shadow and enjoy eating

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Favorite restaurant-Saiban hotel a bit away from main road and very silent place attractions-various points,adventure sports and hose ride shopping-nothing much to shop but leather chappals are good

Activities & things to do: just'juice piwani majja ni life'. just go and rest... cool place no pollution no noise no vechiles

Matheran Experience: The destination is very good. Nice place for weekend to hangout. The climate is good throughout the year. During rainy season the roads are little slippery not advisable to travel.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Not much for shopping, Food is good, you can enjoy gola sharbat . Leather shoes and chapples are available in plenty

Activities & things to do: Nothing much. You need to walk a lot for travelling places or you can take a horse for reaching various spots. Hiring a horse will cost you around Rs. 400

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Mumbai take a local train to Karjat get down at neral and can take a cab or toy train to Matheran.

Matheran Experience: Cool and vehicle free destination. Full of mountains surrounded by. You must have to do Horse riding, Mini train ride from Neral.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Mostly vegetarian food available easily. You have to check with the resort about vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

Activities & things to do: Horse riding. Sight seeing. Mini train ride from Neral.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Beware from monkeys. While walking don 't carry food items and cold drinks with you

"Jaded Destination too expensive for a weekend gateway"

Matheran Experience: If you are new to Mumbai and your a Matheran.you should go here..ideal time to visit is in Winters or till early April.. Rainy season is awesum (if you'r idea of a weekend getaway is to sit back and relax in your hotel room and enjoy the greenery..depends on the hotel you are staying in )

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Nothing great..usual commercial holiday destination..Chiki is good

Activities & things to do: Hike all day!take a horse ride...cars are not allowed inside matheran (hope it stays that way)...you can cover entire Matheran in about a day..

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Fastest way is to take a train till Nerul..and then take a cab till Matheran Taxi stand/Aman lodge or MTDC...taking the mini train is a good first time experience (but is a complete waste of 4 hrs) then hike/walk you way to the main market area..

Matheran Experience: Matheran is the smallest hill resort of India and the only one in Maharastra measuring approx 8 sq Kms only. It is located approximately 90 K ms from Mumbai airport. The place is located away from the din and bustle, in the lap of Mother Nature. For nature lovers it is a paradise on earth. The place has a thick forest cover of tall and huge trees, with flora and fauna all-round. It is free from automobiles. Moreover, the administration with the help of the conscious locals have been able to keep it pollution free. There are two toy trains one from Neral and the other from Aman lodge, near Dasturi naka. I along with my spouse stayed there for three nights and four days. We were enthralled by the quietness of the area and the pollution free environment. It was a complete package of memorable, out of the world experience, full of fun and frolic. Overall, we gathered the feeling that the ambience of the place is to be felt rather than seen.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The fooding is basically vegetarian (Jain meals are also made available on order) in this place, of course keeping pace with the requirement of the tourists, a couple of non-vegetarian outlets have mushroomed, of late. The fooding concerns here are taken care by the hotels, since the same is covered by the tariffs (covered under American Plan) of almost all the hotels. In all there are 38 tourist points at Matheran, some of them have gone defunct (inaccessible) over the years and some others are repetitive i.e. viewing of the same thing from a different angle, of course from a separate location/ point. All these can be covered by walking but is strenuous owing to the dusty trail in a rugged terrain; however horse ride (on payment) makes the access easier. Overall, we gathered the feeling that the ambience of the place is to be felt rather than seen. We collected that leather products from this market are preferred by tourists owing to their durability. Chikee (sweet) is readily available here and the forest products owing to their medicinal value also have a good market here.

Activities & things to do: A ride from Neral to Matheran by the toy train in broad day light is strongly recommended to enjoy the terrain with lush green flora and fauna. Salient among the 38 points are points such as Lords, echo, sun-rise and sunset etc. Horse ride and human pulled rickshaw is worth experiencing atleast once. Marketing of leather products and medicinal herbal products in the evening and sightseeing during the day keeps you busy. More over the hotels have their activities inside premises to keep the inmates engrossed and amused.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The only connectivity of Matheran with the rest of the world is the toy train from Neral which lies on the Mumbai Pune rail line.neral is accessible by the Karjat local from Mumbai (apart from a couple of regular trains from Pune and Mumbai side). No vehicles are allowed beyond Dasturi naka, really incomprehensible stuff, in the modern age. One is expected to walk down a length of 2.5 Km (from Dasturi naka to Matheran). Of course; porters are readily available to carry the luggage, on payment to make our walk pleasant. For the less able, riding a pony or a single capacity rickshaw (man pulled) are the other options, on payment. Once you take the strain, you get your money�s worth. A toy train also commutes between Aman lodge (Dasturi naka) and Matheran.

Matheran Experience: Matheran is nice place. Good location specially good is that after few point they are not allow your Vehicle to go ahead to avoid pollution.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Gujarat Bhavan Hotel's food is excellent. shoping is costly

Activities & things to do: Horse riding

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We have from Mumbai Dadar to Neral & from Neral to Matheran by Share taxi. & from that last taxi stand to Hotel by walking half an hour. If you want to avoid walking ou can catch Mini train from Neral to matheran timings & online booking is available pls. search google I don't remember site.

"Awesome unique Trip"

Matheran Experience: Matheran is a unique place in India. We did not see any bicycle, Vehicles inside the Matheran. We enjoyed all points over a horse and took a unforgettable memory with us.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We took food in our hotel itself and that was excellent. We saw almost all points and did the shopping in the Bazar. We purchased Chapple, Wallet, Bangles, flowers etc.

Activities & things to do: We played T.T., Badminton in the hotel premises and also enjoyed puppet and magic show in the hotel.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: All traveler must to go matheran by Toy Train only. Please do not depend on ATM at Matheran. Please take sufficient cash with us.
