Monsoon in Mumbai

Amazing Mumbai, if you can avoid traffic snarls & flexible about your travel plans. Food, pubs & social lives fabulously engaging. Monsoon brings temperature & humidity low adding to Mumbai glamour. Uber & Ola made Mumbai travel delight plus its patience on road in comparison with north India especially Delhi NCR.

Mumbai trip

The place I went in Mumbai are quite good . Specially the marine drive . But the roads in Mumbai are congested . Lot of traffic and humidity . But one should go to mumbai's marine drive once in their life . And should explore the mithibai's college opposite sandwich wala . The sandwich is very good .

Must visit there

Mumbai is a fantastic city, full of drama and contradictions. I stayed in wonderful Colaba which is the trendy part of Mumbai, whilst there I was approached by a casting agent and asked to be an extra in a bollywood film, what an experience! It is a very friendly city and not half as bad as it's reputation, conventional sights are thin as it's a relatively young city but there is still some things to do like watch a bollywood movie, gateway of India/Elephanta Island, nice restaurants, Prince of wales museum. Just going for a walk is an experience, all human life is here and it will always have a special place in my heart. If it is your first time in India may I suggest Delhi, as it has all the sight's one would want to see when visiting India, lot's of palaces and history as well as being close to the Taj Mahal, but I would urge you to visit Mumbai if you are familiar with the culture

Mumbai Holiday

Overall a nice experience. Mumbai is full of fun and nice places to visit. It has hills, beaches and night life. It was a bit hot and humid however hence kind of spoiled the whole purpose of a relaxed vacation. Even Marine drive during the night time was not as expected. But still a must visit place. We visited Chowpatty and had all the various snacks offered. Sev puri / dahi puri & icecream gola is worth a try. Juhu beache was usually badly crowded hence did not stay quite long. Versova is a little bit less crowded. Paid a visit to the monumental Gateway of India since we stayed at Taj, it was walking distance.
Did pass by several celebrity houses around Juhu, Bandra - Amitabh's Jalsa, Shahrukh's Mannat & Salman's. Also paid a visit to the famous Leopold Cafe, definitely worth going once it has a very different vibe altogether.

For nightlife majorly cafes/lounges in Colaba area or pubs in Bandra are the best. You would find all the restaurants & pubs mostly full on the weekend / Saturday. Good music & drinks. getting food is altogether a different story since its all jam-packed. So if you have a place in mind i would suggest booking a table in advance.

Good place

Was a quick trip so not much to say.
Weather is generally warm.

Walked partial length of the Marine Drive late evening. Enjoyed the experience.
Definitely a must-see/do. A serene, relatively quiet and importantly 'safe' place to walk, even at that hour.

Paid a visit to the monumental Gateway of India and had evening tea at the Taj Mahal Palace. The energy levels and good vibes at the places are refreshing.

Passed by Leopold Cafe (yes! the very same famed one from 'Shantaram' by Gregory David Roberts) and did some shopping around on that street at Colaba Causeway. The variety of knik-knac articles can be overwhelming for people undecided on specific shopping list.
My Status: Shopping incomplete...

If craving for street food, then the Kebab place - 'BadeMiya' round the corner from Taj is a good place for street food experience, though slightly high-priced for street-food, quality is not too bad. They serve from noon until very late into the night.
If peckish at midnight, you are guaranteed to be served, however, be prepared to battle a sea of people in line before you for the same food!

One can easily get to places by cab at reasonable prices and further out places by local train. Local trains are well enough connected and not as crowded as used to be quite some years ago.

Many more places to go to, see, experience and enjoy in Mumbai.
Definitely need more time to see the city and other sights, just a day and a half is insufficient.
