Murti is situated on the banks of the Murti River which flows down from the hills of Kalimpong in West Bengal. This river flows through the famous Gorumara National Park that is home to animals like Indian bison, elephants, tigers, leopards, deer and great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. There is a forest bungalow at the park which provides accommodation and is a suitable place for watching animals.
The Panjhora River that flows near the Gorumara National Park is another prime attraction. Other attractions include the towns of Lataguri and Chalsa, which are located near the Gorumara National Park. The town of Lataguri is the entry point of the Gorumara National Park. Chalsa is ideal for viewing the Chalsa Tea Garden, Phagu and Dam Dim.
Samsing, Bindu, Jhalong, Suntalekhola, Bagdogra and Alipurduar are some of the attractions nearby Chalsa. The Chilapata Forest, near the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, is one of the important elephant corridors between the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary and Buxa Tiger Reserve. It lies in the Dooars region and is close to the Buxa Tiger Reserve and Totopara village.
