Nahan Experience: We thought Nahan is a not-so-choosen venue to get a weekend break from Delhi since delhites have other popular options to choose from.
But being closer to Delhi is big plus.
Nahan has got plenty of lush green hills, weather in August was very very pleasant and it is a nice quite place in the hills. not recommended for 'Mall Road Shopalcoholics' !
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We had plan to go to Nahan but were quite laid back to do our reservations Comparitively closer to Delhi than other popular options is plus for Nahan and we could not get rooms in any the resorts of our liking. We managed to get couple of rooms in Black Mango resort only.
We decided to make it as our base camp to explore nearby areas.
Poanta Sahib is a very nice experience ,religiously and otherwise also as we see Yamuna in full flow here.Renuka is a great excursion option out of Nahan as it got a big big lake and a zoo to please the kids. A big disappointment was the Suketi fossil park. We thought it will have some full size dinosour fossils preserved in natural surroundings but all it had was a musuem.
Activities & things to do: Excursions out of Nahan to Ponta Sahib and Renuka are a good time pass .
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Comfortable 5 1/2 - 6 hrs journey from Delhi makes it a quick weekend trip. The roads leading to Nahan are very well laid. Roads within were not that much maintained, perhaps due to monsoon season at the time of our visit.
