Namakkal Experience: Namakkal is a place for temples and archaeological sites close by. Well worth visiting. There are several temples in the town - my favourite is the Narasimha Temple, although the single-rock Hanuman statue is most popular. Viewing the town from the rockfort above is truly an experience - especially with a binocular on a cool evening (don't attempt to climb around the noon!).

Activities & things to do: Visiting temples, climbing the Rock Fort, hanging around the hotel itself in its serene setting, Kolli Hills nearby (ca.1200 metres high, with an ancient temple and a waterfall).
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Soon there would be a railway station. Now you can get there by road - on the way from the South (eg. There are interesting places just outside Namakkal - Kolli Hills, hill temples like Kooli Patti or Naina Malai (if you are adventurous and dare to climb - season: around September), Thalamalai, etc. Nala Hotel is a nice home away from home to relax off when you return, wherever you go.
