"Visit to Nelliampathy" new review

Nelliyampathy Experience: Nelliampathy is a hill station near the district of palakkad, 60 kms from palakkad. Its also called the Ooty of Kerala, a destination not sought, and a road less traveled.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Good food is available if you stay in a good hotel with all facilities. The entire place is raw nature and untouched landscapes which are a pleasure for the eye and the soul. Suicide point and a waterfalls are the sight to be seen. Shopping would be tea, wine and organic items.
Activities & things to do: Trekking, jeep ride, camp fire and nature walk are the apt activities that can happen in nelliampathy
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: To reach nelliampathy, the best choice is to take our own car such that we can travel to every place possible at nelliampathy. Bus timings are frequent. If not, you can enjoy the ksrtc bus rides that go like roller coaster on the hills roads.

"Nelliyampathy - the Roof of Palakkad"

Nelliyampathy Experience: A quaint Hillstation in Palakkad district that is yet to reach the radar of the majority tourist population. Very beautiful particularly post monsoon. Main attractions are the various steep and imposing cliffs around. The drive through the Ghat road from the base of the mountain to the top itself is an experience to remember with lots of waterfalls dotting the landscape. The weather is pleasant though is is not a place of very high altitude
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Main sightseeing places are - Kesavanpara, Seetharkundu(POABS estate), State orange farm and the forests around. Birds and animal sightings. Nelliyampathy is a birds paradise and also is a hornbill sanctuary. At the Kerala state orange farm, one can also buy orange and guava squash
Activities & things to do: Options of trekking also available, though permission from Forest department is hard to come by.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nelliyampathy is roughly 50kms from Palakkad and the nearest town is Nenmara.

Also see the wonderful Pothundi reservoir which no one can believe the beauty by remarking 'Is it in Palakkad/Kerala or abroad. I can't explain the beauty here.
Activities & things to do: Trekking and Jeep ride are wonderful and really amazing.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nelliyampathy is in Palakkad District, Kerala. You can reach here within one hour from Palakkad. This beautiful hill station is connected with road from Kerala and Tamilnadu.

"awesome place to visit"

Nelliyampathy Experience: i was there in Nelliyampathy with my son and wife. A beautiful and clean place to visit. we stayed in ITl resorts which was an average one. food was gud. climate is enjoyable. if you are a nature lover and interested in preserving it i kindly request u help the people preserve it for u. A gang of friends would be a good company for enjoyment. newly married wont love it. people who love to walk would surely love it. the place is rich in tea cultivation, pepper and elachi plantations. pepper and elachi shrubs r grown like weeds, guess u can carry a kilo of them and no one to question u. we drove through the hills and passed village. the jeep drivers offer to ake u for a safari. but god knows how true it is. In conclusion a good place to picnic rather stay there for couple of days.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: route No1: Coimbatore- Palakkad- Kudavayoo-kolangode nice drive but slightly longer than the other(via Pollachi) u have to drive almost 100+ kms inside Kerala state. road from Kollangode to Nemarra is slightly irritating with lot of pot holes. roads in nemmara town isnt good either. ghat section from nemara to neliyampathy is awesomesingle sided indeed as u go further up u get to look at the view of poonthondi dam. many small water falls r seen on the way to. Roads aren't winding nor hectic.

"Nelliyampathy and coffee blooms..."

Nelliyampathy Experience: Hailed as the poorman's Ooty, this hillstation in Palakkad is a must-see for the scenery as well as the amazing variety of flora and fauna it has to offer and especially for the wide spectrum of bird-life.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Places to see: Manpara Karappara Seetharkundu estates Aanamada lot of jungle trails and I dont know which leads where, but they are all equally pleasant and energizing. Food: There are 3 normal places at Pulayanpara, offering simple local cuisine including meals, porottas, beef and chicken. the resorts..I have no clue cause i have never stayed in one.I ve always lodged in the small lodges available at Pulayanpara.
Activities & things to do: A layman can just keep gaping at the multitude of the flighted species, while an avid bird-watcher may just end up staying there more than he ever intended to..observing,wondering and busy understanding. The places to see are Karappara water falls(by bus and then by foot),Manpara, the tallest accessible point(only by jeep, that too a four wheel drive only-cause the road is made of rocks and slime more than mud and tar),then if you like walking ,keep strolling around and you never know what is in store for you.You will never be disappointed anyways as the fresh air ,the mist and the greenery and bird calls will refresh and mystify you! On one such venture I had my first sighting of a lone tusker (not alone this time as he had three girlfriends also with him!) I also had the pleasure of meeting 2 hornbills, one big and the other Mr.Small.Equally majestic though with all those colours and significantly disproportionate horns(and hence the name). There are many other places too where a hired jeep can take you and it depends on your pocket and how you bargain. A to and fro trip to Manpara will cost you 700-1000 and don't gape at the rate as the drive is not at all easy.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Route:Palakkad-Nenmara-Pothundi Dam-Kaikatti(at the top) -Pulayanpara There are buses from Palakkad and if you have a vehicle you can reach Pulayanparra and unless if you are a four wheel drive, sturdy SUV owner you will have to avail the jeeps for visiting all the exotic places. The jeep guys will take you for a night safari also at higher rates, but beware there might be an angry tusker on the prowl who is ever ready to overturn your jeep and practice stampeding.
