Located in Latehar District in the state of Jharkhand, Netarhat is a town,popularly known as ‘Queen of Chotanagpur’. This hill station is situated at a height of 1,128 metres.
The hill station is situated on the Netarhat Plateau,located in the Pat region of Chota Nagpur Plateau. Consisting of crystalline rock formations along with a summit capped with laterite or sandstone trap, this plateau extends up to 6.4 km in length and 4 km in breadth.
Netarhat is visited by a large number of tourists every year to watch the sunrise and sunset. Located at a distance of 10 km from Netarhat, Magnolia Sunset Point is one of the most prominent attractions of Netarhat.
Other popular attractions of the destination include the Upper Ghagri Falls and the Lower Ghagri Falls. The Upper Ghagri Falls are located at a distance of around 4 km from Netarhat, while the Lower Ghagri Falls are at a distance of around 10 km from the destination.
Reaching Netarhat is not much of a hassle, owing to the presence of flights, buses and trains. Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, located at a distance of around 146 km, is the nearest airport serving the destination.
Tourists can also board trains to Netarhat, which are served by the Ranchi Railway Station, located at a distance of around 145 km away. In addition to flights and trains, buses are also available, most of which operate from Ranchi. The best time to visit Netarhat is during the summer season, which extends from the month of March to May.

Sightseeing attractions in Netarhat include natural attractions like Ghaghri waterfall, Magnolia Point and the Netarhat hills. The Upper Ghaghri waterfall is about four kilometres from the region of Netarhat. The lower Ghaghri waterfall is about 10 km away with a height of 320 ft above the sea level.
Magnolia Point is located at a distance of 10 km from Netarhat and it offers clear views of sunset. This sunset point is located in proximity to the Vindhya Hills. The Netarhat Hills, another attraction, are at a height of 3700 ft and is located in a region covered by forests.
The Koel View Point is at a distance of three kilometres from Netarhat and offers a clear view of the Koel River. About 35 km from Netarhat is the Sadni Falls that flows in a serpentine fashion, making it very popular among travellers.
