About Netarhat Tourism

Located in Latehar District in the state of Jharkhand, Netarhat is a town,popularly known as ‘Queen of Chotanagpur’. This hill station is situated at a height of 1,128 metres. The hill station is situated on the Netarhat Plateau,located in the Pat region of Chota Nagpur Plateau. Consisting of crystalline rock formations along with a summit capped with laterite or sandstone trap, this plateau extends up to 6.4 km in length and 4 km in breadth. Netarhat is visited by a large number of tourists every year to watch the sunrise and sunset. Located at a distance of 10 km from Netarhat, Magnolia Sunset Point is one of the most prominent attractions of Netarhat. Other popular attractions of the destination include the Upper Ghagri Falls and the Lower Ghagri Falls. The Upper Ghagri Falls are located at a distance of around 4 km from Netarhat, while the Lower Ghagri Falls are at a distance of around 10 km from the destination. Reaching Netarhat is not much of a hassle, owing to the presence of flights, buses and trains. Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, located at a distance of around 146 km, is the nearest airport serving the destination. Tourists can also board trains to Netarhat, which are served by the Ranchi Railway Station, located at a distance of around 145 km away. In addition to flights and trains, buses are also available, most of which operate from Ranchi. Netarhat Experience: Very natural nothing artificial and must visit place one of the best Sun rise and sun set experience

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food + its OK dont have too much choice sight seeing : good some waterfalls are nearby and worth watching shopping : nothing is there

Activities & things to do: Not very sure about other activity, problem is not developed and supported by government

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Must be via own car/ rental car, must reach within sun light with low sound music

Netarhat Experience: Netarhat is a beautifull hill station covered with Jungle. A night stay in the Breat taking beauty of Shaal Jungle was a life time experience. Camp fire beside the jungle was so fun.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was good but so costly in this location. Sunset point, Sunrise point, Netarhat school, Naspati garden, Dam these are the places you should not miss in Netarhat. There is no such shopping destination at this place.

Activities & things to do: Jungle trek can be done with proper guide.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Ranchi we booked a car for whole trip, it just relieved us so much. In Netarhat cars are hardly available for sight seeing. So it's always better to pre-book a car.

"The coolest place in Jharkhand"

Netarhat Experience: Netarhat is a place you want to go to be away from the chaos of daily life. you would found it difficult to count even 50 people around you. very isolated and very calm. the view of the valley from the roof of the hotel is amazing. you dont have to go for the sight seeing.just idle away your time with a book.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The prabhat bihar hotel is the only place you stay, run by the bihar government. the double bedded room cost you rs.540. and there is only 15 rooms available right now.they run a restaurant a bit costly. try a restaurant outside. you can have your lunch and breakfast with pre order basis. sight seeing part is not that much . there is only a upper ghagri falls and a lower ghagri falls. though lower ghagri is not accessible by car. ask the driver to take you to a pears garden. give rs. 20 or 30 to the keeper and you'll have atleast five kgs of delicious pears.LODH FALLS is 70 kms and worthy to be visited. shopping part is absolutely nil.

Activities & things to do: Dont go out after sundown.the whole place is crawled with maoists.its their safe heaven. but they never do any harm to the tourists.they are ok with outsiders,rather helpful.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Dont take cab or bus from Ranchi.that is very tiresome.if you reach ranchi by train or by air in the morning there is a train from ranchi to lohardaga at 9;30.it will take 90 minutes to get to lohardaga. trains are very punctual at this route. take a auto from lohardaga stn. to lohardaga taxi stand rs.10 per head. take tata sumo vikta or scorpio to drop you at netarhat hotel. sumo will cost you 1600 and scorpio 2000.take the ph. no.of driver and ask you to pick you up again the date of your departure.you can avail bus from lohardaga busstand also. On the way if CRPF guys ask you to show some IDS or search your bags,Co operate with them .Always be polite with the locals and can drivers.

Netarhat Experience: untouched hill station of Jharkhand, having not a population of more than some thousands of people without any market or shops ,but has the marvelous beauty of a hill station with long stretch of pine trees,eye soothing sunrise & sunset, naspati bagan, a completely unmanned lake which is so good for peace of your mind. In short a must see for nature loving people who want peace for their heart & soul.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: g pravat vihar hotel & restaurant a venture of Jharkhand tourism & development corporation is the only hotel & restaurant in netarhat,where you can have completely home like food. Sightseeing involves sunrise view from hotel pravat vihar,naspati bagan,pine forest,upper ghagri & lower ghaghri water falls,sunset view,koel river view point & netarhat school. Forget about shopping beacuse there are no shops & so go there prepared.

Activities & things to do: Get ready by 5.30 am in the morning to get the beautiful sunrise view from hotel pravat vihar & do not forget to go to Mangolia Point for sunset view which is 10 kms from hotel. In the mean time you can see the naspati bagan,pine forest,koel river view point otherwise just relax in your hotel room.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Netarhat is around 140 kms from Ranchi. go to wards gumla/daltenganj more via kathal more 30 kms from Ranchi, take right turn at bero & go for another 40 kms ,take left turn at Lohardaga, go gor 254 kms take right turn at ghaghra & go for 40 kms via adar, bishunpur, bhandra, take right turn & go for 6 kms & you will reach netar hat. road is good al throughout & so no problem at all.

Netarhat Experience: Netarhat a destination 165km from Ranchi via Lohardagga, Ghagra...Kuru road. The second Himachal almost, we can say. Like we have reached in heaven. Natural beauty of Netarhat welcomes us with both arms. By hugging and whispering that you are my own, I am very glad to see you. Very charming as well as pleasant weather with very cooperative local people. Lush green forest of sal, shisham, mahua and the pine trees, which is very rare. At a height of 3750 ft. above the sea level I have seen 'NETARHAT' .. a natural hut which is calling us further...to give us love and affection by heart and soul.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Many hotels and lodges are there, which provide food, where you you will get veg. and non veg both. Cost is affordable. You will get meal system also. Some good sight-seeing spots are Sunset Point-11km, Lower Ghagri-6km, Upper Ghagri-11km, Lodh falls-60km, Dasham falls 185km, which is on river Kanchi and falling from a great height of 144ft. You can trek also towards the terrain area where you will get dense forest of sal, shisham, mahua, tamarind etc. with wildlife like black bear, jackals and wild boar. Sometimes in the lower terrain elephants also can be seen.

Activities & things to do: Trekking and taking in the natural beauty - so don't forget to take photographs.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: By train to Ranchi or by car to Ranchi. From Ranchi you will get daily bus services to Netarhat. It is 165 kms from from Ranchi to Lohardaga by trekker or jeep. From Lohardaga you will get jeep or hired car. Throughout the journey don't take alcoholic substance and maintain the the peace for better result of the tour.

Tourist places in Netarhat

Sightseeing attractions in Netarhat include natural attractions like Ghaghri waterfall, Magnolia Point and the Netarhat hills. The Upper Ghaghri waterfall is about four kilometres from the region of Netarhat. The lower Ghaghri waterfall is about 10 km away with a height of 320 ft above the sea level.

Magnolia Point is located at a distance of 10 km from Netarhat and it offers clear views of sunset. This sunset point is located in proximity to the Vindhya Hills. The Netarhat Hills, another attraction, are at a height of 3700 ft and is located in a region covered by forests.

The Koel View Point is at a distance of three kilometres from Netarhat and offers a clear view of the Koel River. About 35 km from Netarhat is the Sadni Falls that flows in a serpentine fashion, making it very popular among travellers.
