"Good place" new review

Basically it's a place to enjoy natural beauty. It has lakes like pykara, emerald & Ooty. There are three commercial travel routes for sightseeing. One known as filmy chakkar comprises of shooting sites of famous movies & pykara lake. One route is of nearby places. One route has pykara plus sanctuary. Altogether only the filmy chakkar seems to be worth visiting as a package. The botanical garden, rose garden, museum, stone house, Ooty lake & thread garden can be easily covered by taking auto & little walks. The botanical garden has govt shop for selling green tea, various oils & spices so better refrain from buying these in local market or the places bus driver takes you in.

Awesome climate and very relaxing place. Everyone must go there with intention of relaxing rather than hurrying to cover Botanical Garden or Rose Garden or anything else. It's the beauty of nature that makes things looks better to our eyes.

I suggest an open resort than a closed hotel rooms in this weather.

Ooty is a perfect destination if you are looking for a getaway!

It's especially beautiful in winters.. The highest point Doddabetta must be visited when you can see the breathing taking view and fog everywhere.. It's just beautiful!

The botanical garden is magnificent with so beautiful landscape and trees and flowers, the rose garden is amazing!

Tea plantations and tea factory can be visited and also do not forget to bring some with you!

Boating at the lake in Ooty is a beautiful experience too.. You can have any type of boat you wish! It is surrounded with greenery and it just makes you feel so fresh!

Ooty chocolates are really yum along with the nilgiri oil which you can definitely buy!

Also you can get authentic wood fired pizza at the side walk cafe Ooty which is lip smacking!

We were very excited to see this place as most of people told very nice and cool place and it is lived up to expectation. From beginning of Bandipur, Mudhumallai to Ooty, entire journey was so good so that entire my family couldn't divert our attention other than seeing mountains, nature and mist on mountains. Visited Botanical gardens, Rose gardens and Lake.

"Good Scenic View" new review

  • 5.5/7

Climate is Cool. Very pleasant. Please check the dates for Fruit Show and Flower shows organised in Ooty. It is Worth coming at that time but would be crowded. Best for Family visit. 3 days minimum for sight seeing. Nearest station is Mettupalayam. From their you can come by nilgiri train which takes around 5 hours to reach Ooty with good scenic views but little bit tiring. Alternatively you can come by local bus or hire car. By car it takes around 2 hours. Places not to miss is Rose Garden for people who love rose flower. Botanical Garden for relaxing (It is very Big) Pykara lake or fall to be visited only if there is water, Dodabetta peak gives good view of Ooty and other places from top of mountain, tea estate process of tea is explained and shown inside factory, You can buy homemade chocolates, different type of tea (taste are very good and you can realise the difference from the branded tea which we buy at our place) Carrot, Beetroot and different fruits. Overall good for relaxing.

"Awesome place having natural beauty" new review

You need to definitely visit the Botanical Garden and the Rose Garden. Every year in May they will arrange a "3-day Flower Show", which is one, everyone misses.

You must book a broad-guage train ticket to Coimbatore well in advance, as it is rare to find and is worth experiencing.

Try local boiled Corn with pepper power and lime. Cut mangoes with salt and chillie powder, etc. Boat riding, Trekking, Bird watching and Horse riding are other interesting activities to do.

You can get Woollen, at cheap rate.
