"Ooty in 3 days" new review

We arrived at Coimbatore airport around 12pm. There are private cabs available for you to take at the airport and also the local cab companies. They will cost around 2k or more for a trip till Ooty. Bus station is also nearby and you can get a cab from airport. We opted for the bus. Conoor is on the way. In Ooty we stayed at a hotel near chairing cross which is the heart of city. As we didn't want to travel by cabs or travel cars. We decided to rent an activa from a travel company there. It' s quite cheap. We got it for 650rs for 24hrs. The next morning we started off for pykara lake. The journey is more beautiful than the destination itself. We took our time roaming and stopping around the roadside soaking in the nature. There's this one more lake which will be on the way to pykara. It' s better to start off in morning, since it's not so crowded and you will get the space to yourself .. The beautiful picture perfect canopies and greenery. Nine mile Six mile shooting points all are on the way. At pykara lake we have parking areas, and a small eating joint. There's speed boating and normal boat ride. Boating is a tad bit expensive for it's worth. How ever, the beautiful scenery makes up for it. You can see wild animals roaming in the nearby jungle. The downside is that, like all the tourist points, Ooty's also crowded and if you're an off beat traveller, you might not like the typical attraction points like Ooty lake boathouse and shooting points, Go for the ride across town instead and you might find the road not taken.

"#IndiaOffBeat Journey with HolidayIQ and Olacabs" new review

We were at Ooty last month where we visited many beautiful spots which it is known for. Instead of any bus or other transport I chose the Ola Ourstation cab which had the LCD attached to it with Music, Radio and Movies to watch on my long journey there. After reaching Ooty we went for boating after Pykara Lake and the Shooting Point. In the cab we explored Doddabetta Peak, Sanctuary Avalanche and the Madumalai National Park. Staying at the Sinclairs Retreat which had like everything from awesome food to a playroom to warm us up when it got all cold playing Table Tennis and Badminton. Ooty is a beautiful location to headout too whenever you get a leave. 2-3 days is good enough to explore the beautiful place.

Its really a breath taking place and the scenaries are amazing. Travelled by mountain train and enjoyed everybit of it. Although the climate is harsh when reached dhodabetta peak, remaining places are really awesome. Love to visit once more if possible. HolidayIQ helped a lot by providing a good travel agent and a nice hotel to stay in.

"Location and views are breathtaking"

Ooty is known for its splendid beauty and lush green mountains. I would suggest to carry some warm clothes. There is mild shower in the month of June and mostly weather is cloudy.
One must visit Botanical Garden, Pykara Lakein Ooty and Sims park in Coonor.
It is also famous for its toy train which plies between Mettuplayam and Ooty. We took train from Coonor to Ooty (1 hour 15 mins)and had an amazing experience. If you wish to travel in FC make sure you book tickets online atleast a week in advance.
For people travelling from north good food can be a challenge to find. But do try Amma's kitchen for delicious mouth watering food and ginger tea. :)

Great escape from heat during April - June. Must Visits are - Rose garden, botanical garden, lake, tea gardens in Coonoor. Carry warm clothes. We stayed in Youth hostel Camping Facility, one can avoid that when with family. Avoid hotels near city centre if you want to enjoy the real weather of Ooty. Main road and near city center is too polluted.
