"Location and views are breathtaking" new review

Ooty is known for its splendid beauty and lush green mountains. I would suggest to carry some warm clothes. There is mild shower in the month of June and mostly weather is cloudy.
One must visit Botanical Garden, Pykara Lakein Ooty and Sims park in Coonor.
It is also famous for its toy train which plies between Mettuplayam and Ooty. We took train from Coonor to Ooty (1 hour 15 mins)and had an amazing experience. If you wish to travel in FC make sure you book tickets online atleast a week in advance.
For people travelling from north good food can be a challenge to find. But do try Amma's kitchen for delicious mouth watering food and ginger tea. :)

"Good Experience" new review

Great escape from heat during April - June. Must Visits are - Rose garden, botanical garden, lake, tea gardens in Coonoor. Carry warm clothes. We stayed in Youth hostel Camping Facility, one can avoid that when with family. Avoid hotels near city centre if you want to enjoy the real weather of Ooty. Main road and near city center is too polluted.

April/May is not the best time to visit Ooty because of the fact that large no of people are willing to visit Ooty for summer vacation. And there is no proper arrangements and facilities for such a huge crowd. The traffic was too heavy and the vehicles stuck in the traffic for hours.

Nice drive from Bangalore. Best part is driving through the hairpin turns.
Seems very commercialised and crowded. Expected more quite and decent environment but I think I chose wrong dates.
Anyways it's a good break from busy life in Bangalore.
Will try weekdays next time

I have travelled to many places in india and the world but Ooty stands out like a jewel. I was tad pessimistic before going there as it does not have snow clad hills. But nilgiris have another charm. The journey is itself very picturesque and wherever I went in Ooty, it took my breath away. Weather is excellent, very neat and clean and well maintained especially rose garden and botanical garden. For better enjoyment non peak seasons may be considered
