 Goa in Dec. '08 - I need an affordable room | | I am looking for an affordable long term room rental in Candolim (or elsewhere) from Dec. 6th to Jan. 4th - below 1000r a day. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I will be visiting Goa in December (7th to 11th). I would want to stay in an AC room in a beach side hotel at either Calngute or Candolim or Miramar Beach. Please help me in finding a suitable hotel which is clean and safe (as I will have my family) at a cost of below Rs. 1000.
Please help me in this regards as I have no idea about Goa hotels. | | | Holiday beach shacks | | Does anyone know where I can download a map of the Candolim beach shacks - I have today noticed that "John the map" website has disappeared.
Also - any advice where I can find Bono's beach shack?
Finally - staying at Alegria de Goa from 17th March 2008 which I notice has no reviews. Does anybody have any pictures or comments etc and can you recommend nearby beach shacks and restaurants please?
