"Visit Once."

Pushkar Experience: If you are on a trip to Jaipur, Rajasthan. You can try a day's excursion to Pushkar and Ajmer. It is about 150 kms from Jaipur and you can travel by taxi as the most convenient mode of transport. Lord Brhma's temple being the only one in India , is worth visiting. Pushkar Lake is also good, but like all religious places, it is dirty. The local market is just like a normal town mkt.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is nothing like sight-seeing, except Lord Brahma's Temple and Pushkar Lake. Shopping - Nothing unusual.
Activities & things to do: Nothing except an hour's visit to the town.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Taxi from Jaipur or Ajmer is the only option for tourists.

"Not worth visiting Pushkar"

Pushkar Experience: We visited Pushkar in Feb 2013. There is nothing in pushkar except for well hyped camel ride in so called desert which is not at all a desert but just a pile of mud. the so called desert is not even close to desert. Not at all worth spending time and money in visiting Pushkar. Don't believe any tours and travels.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is nothing for shopping, sight-seeing and anything. If you are a religious person then can visit pushkar lake and brahma temple.
Activities & things to do: Camel ride is the only activity you can find there.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: By private vehicle from Jaipur

"Pushkar"

Pushkar Experience: Pushkar is a religious place of hindus and closely located to ajmer sharif a place nearby for muslim pilgrims. Pushkar is a small place close to desert and you can enjoy camel ride and staying in desert overnight.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Local food is good only during seasons , better rely on a good restaurant. sight seeing is limited to temple and you can enjoy shopping costly local stuff near to temple.
Activities & things to do: Relaxing in the resort is the best else enjoy the dessert safari.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Road is the only option, better come by a private vehicle.

"My vacation at Pushkar"

Pushkar Experience: Pushkar is a beautiful destination to visit. This is the only place in the world which has a Brahma Temple. The sun, the lake, the resort and the desert safari on Camel Cart - all are experiences which cannot describe in words. Simply awesome!!
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The roadside cafes serve fantastic vegetarian food, lovely coffee and are fast on service as well. Shopping in the lanes was fun, and bargaining is easier when you are purchasing from the local vendors.
Activities & things to do: Camel ride, desert safari on camel carts, visit to the Brahma temple, pooja by the lakeside, shopping in the by lanes, relaxing in the sun in the resort lawns by the poolside
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We traveled by road (drove down in our own car). We did not make any hotel reservations but got a good local guide who helped us identify and check into good places. He also helped get through our puja rituals at the temple and by the lake side.
