"A city on the banks of River Godavari" new review

Rajahmundry Experience: Rajahmundry is an upcoming city full of life. It can be called as a pilgrim's paradise with many historical temples as well as newly built modern temples. There is abundant greenery around the city with lush green paddy fields, banana trees, fruit gardens, etc. River Godavari when in full spate is a great sight.People are friendly and well-behaved.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You get tasty veg & non-veg food at reasonable price. Udipi Akshaya is the best hotel for vegetarians. The recently built ISKON Temple, River Bay Complex, Gayathri Temple, etc must be visited. A trip to Papikondalu by river-criuse is enjoyable. Varieties of fruits are available in plenty. For the best mangoes , one must go there in summer. Very big cloth shops are worth shopping for Sarees.
Activities & things to do: Visits to temples, long drive around the city to enjoy the nature and a river cruise.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Rajahmundry is well connected to Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad,Delhi and Kolkata with direct express trains. One can travel to the city by direct flight from Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. Cabs can be used for local travel. Avoid the period July- September as that is the rainy season.

"Pilgrimage Angle"

Rajahmundry Experience: For us it was only a transit point, hence, we are unaware of the place.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We had food at couple of restaurants in Rajahmundry. One of them was 'Food Ex' just opposite to Sai Priya Residencey. They have served piping hot food, tasty, ultra quick service including billing, and rates on par with a general A/c restaurant. Exactly opposite railway station we had dinner, it was very typical south Indian (Andhra) hotel, and we were lucky to have an excellent south Indian andhra meals.
Activities & things to do: If you are on pilgrimage tour, one can visit Annavaram (approx 80 kms), PIthapuram (approx 35 kms), Biccavolu - for Vinayak temple, temple is not that big or typicality of south India, but the Ganesh (Vinayak) idol is quite big, beautifully decorated, in granite rock. Specialty of this idol is that you have to tell in the ears of the Vinayaka God and it is said that he fulfills the wishes of the requester.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Plenty of buses to and fro Vijayawada, Kakinada, Annavaram, pithapuram etc. Railway connects on south with Vijayawada and on North with Vizag.

"the beautiful Godavari"

Rajahmundry Experience: Average- Though the Rajahmundry town was looking satisfactory, the suburban roads were very much bad in condition which we found when we happened to visit a few well-known holy shrines around the town- like Draksharamam, Rally, Antharvedi Ainaveli etc. Especially the road leading to the famous Ainaveli Sri Ganapathi temple was very much bad in condition. The Govt. has to take serious steps to provide good motorable roads to enable the devotees and travellers to enjoy their trip comfortably and think of coming back again to visit the places or to recommend other devotees/tourists to visit.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The trip too Rajahmundry, specially preferred by us to go in the launch was fantastic. The launch experience was quite nice and enjoyable- in which we went to the paapikondalu, enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the out flowing Godavari river and the mountains standing around it. The launch provided by the New Punnami Travels was satisfactory with the entertainment and the food the staff provided throughout the almost more than 7 to 8 hours ran trip. The Antarvedi with its beautiful scenery of the Godavari river joining the Bay of Bengal(called Anna Chellalu Gattu) is fantastic and ever-remaining in our memories
Activities & things to do: We can go around the famous holy shrines around Rajahmundry which are almost within 50 to 60 kms radius and also not to miss the greatly looking Antharvedi- the meeting point of River Godavari and the Bay of Bengal. One who expects a postive transfer in his/her job or professional place may definetely visit the holy Rally Sri Ganapathi temple to get their wish fulfilled at the earleist- which is very much believed amongst the devotees who visits this holy shrine?????!!!!!!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The Rajahmundry town is easily reachable by bus or train from Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam or Vijayawada and so on. The railway line is well situated on the main and busy Chennai- Kolkata(Howrah) line with many fast trains passing throuhg it. By road also it is situated on the famous 6 lane NH 5 highway. The cabs are available at reasonable rates to make visits to the surrounding famous shrines/places.
