Picture perfect place
Overview of the destination
Bheemeshwari is a place which looks like a picture painted by a kid, Nice green mountains & clouds in the sky & the the river cauvery flowing by is just what we needed to chill out on a sunny sunday. Our team of five which includes my finace, me & my three friends wanted to get out of bangalore for a day to a nice cool place & we zeroed on bheemeshwari, this place is 2kms away from Mutati which is a forest range with mountains spread all around. We started from banaglore at 7.00 in the morning and reached bheemeshwari at 11.30, it usuall takes just 1hr 30 mins, since we had a flat tyre, had to get that patched up. We parked our vehicle close by to the cauvery fishing camp in bheemeshwari & trekked for about 1km to reach the river side, we spent arong 3-4 hrs in the water & started to unwrap the food covers that we had carried, since it was summer we had carried lots of oranges & cucumber & ate to our hearts content, we got out of water & started cooking our food which was ready to eat noodles but please make your own fire ;), it was really adventurous to cook but please do not litter, carry your waste back. We had a nap for a short time & around 5 we made our coffee with the hlp of river water & some milk powder, sugar & nescafe, after this we headed back to banaglore & on our way back we had a chance to see the spectacular sunset.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
To reach bheemeshwari you have to cross Mutati which is also a famous tourist destination but if you are looking for privacy & cleanliness then ignore mutati & head forward to bheemeshwari, carry your own food as apart from small hotels at mutati there are absolutely no hotels or shops in bheemeshwari.

Activities & things to do
Trekking on the hills & soaking your self in the river are the only activites at bheemeshwari, this place is ideal just for a day out. I would like to warn you people that the current of the river is very high, so kindly take care of yourself & your family, do not venture too deep into the river, there are chances of finding few crocodiles & wild elephants, so do not venture deep into the jungle or river.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
From Bangalore take the Kanakapura road, reach kanakapur & head towards sathnur, in sathnur take left towards mutati. From mutati take the road which leads to cauvery fishing camp, this enitre strech is called bheemeshwari.

Bheemeswari Day trip - need some info
Hi, Plan to make a day trip to Bheemeshwari one of the coming sundays (probably 6th of July). Idea is to take my 5 year old son out and give him some experience of nature (instead of being couped up in the city)! I need some info regarding the place: - What are the activities one can look at for a day trip - plan to leave around 8am and be back by 5pm. - Can one indulge in activities like fishing, coracle rides, etc independent of the JLR camps, i.e., are there any other operators there for these kind of activities? - Again, for lunch/snacks, etc does one have to depend on JLR? If so, do we have to inform them in advance? Will appreciate any info on the above. Cheers,
