Overview of the destinationWhen thinking about Dharmasthala hot weather and long Q come to our mind. I got something else to my delight.
Dharmasthala has fog by morning and smog when that occasional monster goes off road. The sublime odor of soil sprinkled by drizzle only could conquer the overwhelming presence of wild fragrance. Squeak of the crickets would replace the clatter of the big city. Alas there is silence. Absolute, when they stop their squeak. The 8 million elbows of Namma Bengaluru get replaced by twigs and twirls. Though hushed in green and seems so remote as the end of the world, Dharmasthala and villages around are extremely efficient and civilized with fanciful folk. The definition of village here is a cluster of houses distanced by thick vegetation by around two hundred to five hundred meters.
Places to visit at Dharmasthala are Temple, Bahubali betta and an excellent museum.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Food is free at Dharmasthala. The hotels serve very different food, I can not appreciate that. Food at Stream of Joy homestay was extra ordinary. Very clean, lots in quantity and delicious.
Activities & things to do
Temple darshan visit to Bahubali betta are main. Museum is very good.
AT stream of joy you can do cycling, mountain biking, rafting in safe waters, bird watching, camp fire and very easy but marvelous trek
