Overview of the destination The Elephanta caves are on an island just 10kms in the sea off Gateway of India, Mumbai. Regular ferry services every half an hour. Return trip costs Rs 120/person.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. Catch a ferry early so you get good time to see and explore the beauty of the island.The last ferry on return is at 5:30 pm.There are no facilities for overnight stay-though there are a number of good restaurants for lunch / snacks.
