| Wanderlust Other | 29th June 2008 Gurgaon - the city of skyscrapers | | Overview of the destinationGurgaon is full of skyscrapers. Makes one feel very small. And if you are short, well....! Hardly any buildings that are less than 12 stories - possibly some of the office buildings that's all. A very smart city all in all. Tall buildings, smooth roads - well almost all (the roads have deteriorated a bit in between the two visits I made)- and yes, posh malls. Gurgaon is known as the city of malls. And rightly so. Anywhere you turn you come across a mall. And a very large one with all kinds of brand items sold. It is good fun to even window shop. And the items sold are all the latest - well at least that's how it looked to my inexperienced eyes. Food, sight-seeing and shopping Malls. That's where you go to spend your leisure time. Lots of hypermarkets, supermarkets too. But remember to have a vehicle at your disposal. Distances are fairly large in Gurgaon and walking is out of the question. The roads are not crowded although the malls are on weekends. The malls are surrounded by food courts too, so lots of food options. Additionally, each mall will have a restaurant worth its salt and the food is generally good. Try the momos outside Galleria or the Golden Dragon in the mall next to Landmarks for Chinese. Each Gurgaonite has his/her own favourite food area, so try as many options as you can. The food court in Ambience mall is ok, as long as you don't expect gourmet food. Activities & things to do Malls, malls and more malls. You could also go to Delhi for some sight-seeing or shopping. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. There's a train stop I believe in Gurgaon but I have always gone by road from Delhi. | | | Wanderlust Other | 29th June 2008 Gurgaon - the city of skyscrapers | | Overview of the destinationGurgaon is full of skyscrapers. Weekend getaway | | Hi
I am getting married this December and was wanting to book at a resort for a 2 day stay at any good 5 star resort. I have come to understand that there is Westin Resort and Spa in Sohna, Heritage Village and Best Country Club Resort in Manesar. I was wanting for someone to give me a feedback as to which will be better bet...We were looking for a place that can help us relax after the hectic schedule of marriage. All we want is to get some wonderful ambiance with good servise and some activities that'll help us not be stuck in a room.
Can anyone help???
Thanks!!!
