Trip to Havelock Island
Overview of the destination
This Island is located north-east of Port Blair. It 2.5 hours journey from Port Blair. It is a heavenly destination for nature lovers.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
There are plenty of restaurants in Havelock. We had food in Wild Orchid Resort(Best for candle light dinner), Bay View Inn and Nala's Kindom (Best one...Delicious sea food) The must visit places are: Elephant beach, Radhanagar beach, Kalapathar beach

Activities & things to do
Snorkeling Diving Exploring lonely beaches

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Havelock is a very safe place. Local people have very simple life style. Carry enough cash as we dint see any ATM there.

THE PARADISE OF INDIA
Overview of the destination
You will never find the sea so untamed yet safe, the beaches so lovely in this part of the world. It is a paradise and go for it before humans spoil it. A place to rekindle the passion in your life, rejuvenate your soul and marvel at the beauty of creation of Mother Nature. Beach Number 7 (Radha Nager Beach has been rated by Times as the Best Beach in Asia-2004.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Food to me was standard, being a Bengali I had tasted better and much more variety of Fish Preparations. The Food i.e., local food served at Star Hotels does not have much variety. Best Star Hotel Food: Wild Orchid Resort Must Eat Lobster and enjoy the sweet coconut water. Site Seeing: Radha Nagar Beach, Vijay Nagar Beach, Forest and Mountains. Do not Buy any thing as they are quite expensive you will get similar things cheaper at Port Blair. Do not miss the Beaches (Especially Radhanagar (Beach No. 7)and Vijay Nagar(Beach No. 5)) and go for the elephant Rides. Just Enjoy your stay All Sightseeing activities are for nature lovers.

Activities & things to do
Things must be done: 1) Snorkelling - There are many Coral Reefs go out and enjoy as per your interest and convinience 2) Fishing and Angling: Hire a boat and go for the big fish 3) Trekking to the highest point 4) Trekking through forest 5)Elephant Ride 6)Scuba Diving (both Day and Night) - If you have the fire and passion. 7) Enjoy at the beach to the fullest. Almost all Hotels have packages for various activities

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
1) Fly to Port Blair from Kolkata or Chennai. 2) Reach Havelock either by Helicopter(should be booked well in advance) or Steamer. 3)The return Launch from Havelock comes in the evening (18:00 hrs - 18:30 hrs) so if you are coming by Sea you should make arrangement in Hotel at Port Blair well in advance (Check in time of Hotels at Port Blair 8:30-9:00 hrs). 4)If you afraid of water do not come to Havelock, you will get bored. 5) Although there had been no accidents but it is advisable not to travel to Havelock during Monsoon for people who are not brave enough in relation to water. Travel Tips: 1) Carry Cash, because Credit Cards are rarely accepted. 2) Remember there is no ATM at Havelock Islands 3) Always carry a stick at night to protect yourself from stray dogs. 4) Do not venture out in the Forest at night - Snakes 5) Listen to the locals and pay heed to their advice. 6) Have plenty of Liquor of your Choice. Liquior is very cheap 7) You can hire a cycle, travel by auto or bus or even hire a car as per your pocket and convienence. 8) If you are hiring Motor Bike/ Moped please check the condition of the Bike. If you donot check it, it may develop trouble and you may be required to pay substantial amount to repair it. It is better to Walk or hire a cycle then to hire a bike with both physical and machine trouble. 9)
