Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Leh city has beautiful monasteries and the Shanti Stupa is amazing, it enables one to view entire Leh city from the Stupa. Pangong - paradiseeee is all I can say, ever changing colors of the lake and the quaint , picture postcard surroundings make up for the 7 hours (pheww!!) bumpy ride in one instance! Nubra Valley is awesome, its a cold dessert in Ladakh. The white sand in the valley is so serene. One has to pass through the Highest motorable road in the world, Khandugla Pass to reach Nubra. The weather can change there in minutes. One can shop for local t-shirts from leh town as well as other souvenirs from the local market. Haggling is must!

Activities & things to do
There is soo much beauty in Ladakh that one barely gets time to think about what to do. We went rafting in Zanskar up till Lower Indus.....And it was fun!!! People fond of photography need not think of what to do , coz one can take photographs of the beautiful topography all day long.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Flight is the best option if one has less time. Else people do travel to Leh by road (2 days) from Manali. However, to enjoy the beauty of the roads, we drove from Leh to Srinagar via Kargil....Moonland that comes on the way is breathtaking viewwww...... One MUSTT acclimatize properly, at least for 24 hours after reaching Leh, in order to enjoy other destinations like Pangong and Nubra which are at even higher altitudes. Diamox really helps for acclimatization. We visited in September. Pangong and Nubra get reallyyy cold in evenings , better be equipped with good woollens. Its really important to carry food and water as journeys are too long and tiring. Most occasions we had packed lunch from the hotel which was a saving grace.
