Wonderful holiday
Overview of the destination
Had a wonderful 5 days in Ladakh from 4th to 9th July. Best is to avoid packages and plan your own itinerary since costs are reasonable. We stayed at Sigge Palace which was ok as a 3 star property. Dragon seemed to be a nice hotel. They also have a new Grand hotel now which looks quite good.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
The monasteries are nothing great since upkeep is poor but the site-seeing at Pangong lake and Nubra Valley is excellent. Stick to basic foods. Of course you can experiment with Thukpa and Momos.

Activities & things to do
Best to relax and take long walks from the 2nd day onwards. 1st day should be total relaxation and getting acclimatized due to less oxygen in the air.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Jet airways seems the best bet since it will be on time.
