Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Food is ok in prime restaurants but do not expect great varieties. It is not like other hill stations where all types of bazaar activities ruin the serene atmosphere. At Patnitop you may find some of these but you have the space to escape and wander among the virgin nature. You may indulge in kashmiri artifacts but do bargain and pick not too costly items to avoid disappointment later.

Activities & things to do
As told earlier a stroll along the circular road detoxifies you. Choose a calm grassy spot in the hills and lie there ans soak in the surroundings.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
You can get a deluxe bus or a private taxi from Jammu. On way Rs.1000. Hotels range from 500 to 2000. If you want to stay in Govt. accommodation choose only dak bungalow rooms (800) or deluxe huts on the main site (1800-3000). Do not go to background huts. These are shabby. Bargain with the hotels. they may be cheap than what they ask.
