Awesome even in winter. Though most trees are bare, one can't help but marvel at the tranquil beauty of the Dal lake and its surrounding. Great if you want to seek a quiet refuge from the hustle bustle of city life. The people are warm and friendly. This is one holiday I'll definitely remember!Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Lots of shopping to be done. They have beautiful shawls, carpets, rugs, paper machie, wooden carvings, etc. You can even shop while travelling on the shikara coz they have mobile 'bazaar' on their shikara. Activities & things to do
Laze about in the houseboat while sipping the Kashmiri tea. Their khawah tea is exceptionally aromatic when drunk in winter time. Soothing and warmed to the body. Or stroll through the Floating garden on Dal Lake on the shikara. Most plants have dried up but its a totally different experience watching the still world go by. There's not much activities to be done during winter. Just relax. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Don't forget to bring rubber packs for hot water in case the heater does not work. They have frequent electricity disturbances. | |

 package tour wanted | | Hi,
i wanted to visit srinagar and close by destinations like sonamarg gulmarg pahalgam etc in a 7n/8d tour. iwould like to know the best possible combination of places and budget hotels upto Rs 1000 for stay. would also like to know the different ativities one can perform there.this visit will be in december by 24th upto 1st or 2nd january. we are a family of three with as son of 5 yrs. we may have another similar couple with us.
Do advice on the same.
