Overview of the destination Kabini is the location for a number of wildlife lodges on the banks of the river Kabini, one of the tributaries of the mighty Cauvery. Set on the southern side of the Nagarhole National Park within the Nilgiris Biosphere, Kabini is a great place to spot wildlife.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping The only sights to see are those offered by nature. The wonderful setting on the banks of the river is enhanced by the real chance of spotting a wide variety of wildlife makes this a great wildlife location in India. Has earned global recognition; I recently saw a TV program set in Kabini on Indian elephants anchored by the Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn.
Activities & things to do Go in the summer when water levels are low in the forest. Gets all the wildlife closer to the river making for incredible sightings. Avoid taking very small children, since the discipline of the forest might be difficult for the little ones. Wear dull colured clothes (muted greens & browns) for the Jeep Safari.
