Heaven! Green! Wonderful! Scenic! Are some of the words that come to my mind when I think of the place. Filled with coffee plantations and resorts among the hills and the plantations, Wayand is breathtakingly green and beautiful. It does not offer much for the tourist who doesnt want to get up and about. But if you are willing to do some climbing up and down, it offers you rain covered hills, roaring waterfalls in deep ravines, beautiful dam filled with calm water, peace and quiet.... its just amazing.Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Sight seeing requires some amount of healthiness from an individual, as there is some climbing up and down hillsides and ravines. Not much shopping, although you can find some really good stuff made out of Bamboo and other spices (for which Kerala is famous for) Activities & things to do
Good amount - Trekking - Mountain side, some forays into forest just wandering around. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Be prepared to do some exercise. Its all laid back and relaxed - no TVs, loud noises and polluting factors. We drove down from Bangalore via Mysore and through Bandipur Reserve forest. Beautiful drive most of the way. carry water. People are very warm and pleasant and helpful. | |

 Good accomodation at Wayanad | | Hi. We are planning to visit Wayanad in December. We browsed the net for a few resort details, but are unbale to come to a unanimous decision. can u pls help us with some good resorts to stay. We are a family of two adults and a child aged 9 years. Can someone please guide me about the stay and places of interests in wayanad. Me and my wife are planning to visit wayanad and stay there for a period of 4 days in october. We will be driving from bangalore. We are vegeterians. Please suggest some hotels /resorts which is safe as well as good for veggies as we are only 2 in number.
I enquired with Greengateshotel and it is full during that time.
