Calicut is a city with greenery and having small lake (canoli canal) going through the city. Kallai river (Wold famous timber trade centre),mananchira square, city beach, botanical garden, planetarium, V.K.K. Menon museum and the old city heritage habitats (centuries old ancient houses in western side of city (kuttichira-thekkeppuram) boat building yard, and more and more- I like very much this city of communal harmony.

Overview of the destination
Calicut was the capital city of land of Malabar, a famed port town that was the centre of the world trade in spices a few centuries ago. It is still a bustling town with remnants of an ancient cosmopolitan past. Most tourists visit Calicut on their way to Wayanad or Bekal. However, if you are fond of Malabar cuisine (seafood in all forms and the famous Malabar biryanis) then this is the city to go to.

The best options are for eating. Check out Paragon restaurant in downtown Calicut for some amazing seafood. Badagara, a nearby town is a good place to shop for 'antique' furniture

Nothing much except gorging on the food. The beach in town is okay.

Fly in to Calicut airport or reach by train from other parts of Kerala. The Konkan railway goes through Calicut
