Overview of the destination Its an excellent place for spending a few days with your near and dear ones. There is absolute peace and with the beach facing rooms of MTDC, u can't ask for more. Kids will surely enjoy it. The beach itself is clean, the sea water is crystal clear.Once u get in u would take a long time to come out. There is a Ganesh Temple on the beach and is an important religious destination.The drive from Ratnagiri itself is fabulous.Spend a Minimum of 3 days to get refreshed. We stayed at MTDC Resort which is right on the beach. Kokani Huts and Tents are a bit far. MTDC Resort has an excellent layout. u do not have room service for food except for the morning tea.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping Ganapatipule does not have roadside dhabas but a few restaraunts cum lodges on the road leading to Village.The Restaraunts at MTDC Resort TARANG itself is excellent and serves u good quality veg-non veg food. The Drinking water tastes as if u r in mumbai.
Activities & things to do MTDC runs a small water sports facility at the other end of the resort. but they r costly. u can have a ride on the water scooters or paddle boats.Or u can simply play around on the beach with ur near and dear ones.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. We took an overnight train from CST (VT) Konkan Kanya Express which leaves at 11.00 pm and reaches ratnagiri at 6.35 pm. The timing of the train is conviniet since u reach ganpatipule before 9.oo am which would be ur check in time.From ratnagiri station u cand catch a ST BUS for ganapatipule or ask a couple of autos. they charge around RS 350 for one way trip, but it is worth it. While returning we booked ourselves on the Mandovi express which comes from Goa and reaches ratnagiri at 2.35 pm and reaches Mumbai at 9.00 pm. Trains r usually late though since the konkan railway runs only on a single track.
I am currently far away from Ganapati Pule but would like to request a Pooja by mail. I know they perform the pooja upon your request & Pooja fee and then send the Prasad by mail.
Can somebody give me the address where I can mail my request and the Pooja fee?
The temple is awsome. A must see.
