This place is so beautiful that once you are there, you feel to take a home and settle down in your life, enjoying life at fullest amidst the nature beauty! I visited during the last week, when the monsoon was at its peak, and being there, felt I would have missed if I did not come to Lonavala during rains!! The visibility was very less but it was awesome! describing in words will not do justice...so, pullout yourself, go and enjoy in Lonavala!
Food, sight-seeing and shopping Sight seeing is wonderful! Tiger leap, Lion point, Bushy dam and more than these, the in between small water falls you get enroute to these places, are the most enjoyable ones! Go ahead and chill out!
Only shopping you can do is CHIKKI (toffee) !! raise your head, you will see chikki...amazing taste of these...generally we get to eat only groundnut chikkis in the cities, but you go to a shop and you will be amazed to see the different varities!! Just khaate hi rehe jaaoge!!
Activities & things to do Did not find much of activities...only activity that I observed was to chill out in the lovely weather, forgetting yourself and enjoying the nature to the fullest!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. To reach Lonavala, you have the country's pridest road ever built...The Mumbai-Pune Expressway...Lonavala is around 100kms from Mumbai and you can either catch bus or train or you can drive on your own! However, even if you spend some more money on commutation, I advise to hire a car where you can feel the expressway as well as the breathtaking view of the hills and tunnels that come across! Give a break in the food mall that you get in between the journey!
