The faithful can also take part in the 'sewa' at the Golden temple, where you can take part in the various activities like helping in the langar, distributing the kadaah prashad etc.
Also go on an eating binge :) - the lassis, amritsari kulchas, and various local specialities.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. It is connected by regular and numerous trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pathankot, Jammu, Kolkatta and other parts of the country as well. Shatabadi trains and Shan-e-Punjab are the best trains from Delhi. Summers are very hot while winters biting cold, so light cottons in summers and heavy woollens in winter.
