Overview of the destinationAn aesthetic & a visual feast, it left us with a cache of poignant memories & a yearning to return; as if it was all a figment of imagination! Please note, the Ghat itself is unmatched, there are serveral resorts/orchards - we stayed at Maharani Naug.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Our choice was the Rajasthani food; though all types available. Open air buffet lunches/ themed dinners under flaming torch in backdrop of music and folk dances under thatched roofs ? pillars and walls with terracotta stuff all around. Set in lush oasis, you feel as part of history at the onetime retreat of maharani of Jodhpur. Four km away is Ranakpur temple where logic takes backseat; spirit reigns. Kumbahlgarh fort on horse back/ jeep safari or take a camel ride through spectacular sadri dam/ reservoir/falls Not-to-be missed: shop for ?durries? from local weavers.
Activities & things to do
Savour the luscious moments where wind whispers; secluded stretches for nature walks/hiking/trekking. It has swimming pool, badminton/tennis court and a lot more!
Bird-watching/wildlife [boars etc] in natural habitat, its flora and fauna; gifts of nature aplenty. Village jeep safari to be with tribes is a must. Kaleidoscopic retreat tempts you to take horse safari /camel ride. On way to Kumbhalgarh fort, one must enjoy meals at ?Thandi Beri? and soak in wilderness. Relish the architectural marvel: Rankpur temple with differently carved 1,444 marble pillars. The rustic charm is captivating. One can refresh the body, mind & soul and back home, begin life anew!
