'Kanyakumari' the name means a unmarried young girl. Kumari is a great tourist destiny, nature has showered its blessings over the place. Kumari amman temple is a place of religious importance, vivekanandar rock is a place of historical importance. Tiruvalluvar statue is a milestone. Three sea's meeting at a same point is a natural marvel.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Kumari amman temple is the place of spiritual & religious importance. Boat ride to Vivekanandar rock & Tiruvalluvar statue(133 ft) is a joy, being there is a pleasant experience. Watching Sun rise & Sun set is a beautiful experience in kumari. Other places of attraction are Susendram Dhanumalaya swamy temple, Vattakotai fort, Muttom, Thirparapu falls, Thotti palam (Asia's highest bridge) & Padmanabhapuram palace.

Activities & things to do
Take a boat ride to Vivekanandar rock & Valluvar statue. Don't forget to see sun rise & sun set. Standing at the tip of sub continent is a great experience.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Wearing shirts are not allowed inside Kumari amman temple, on holidays pls try to visit vivekananda rock by 7am so that u can avoid rush at the boating harbour. The tides at the sea are rough at times, so be careful when you are enjoying at sea. Kanyakumari Express runs from Chennai Daily. Nagarcoil express runs from Chennai & Mumbai. Kanyakumari is well connected by Road to Madurai, Tiruvananthapuram & other parts of Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Vivekananda Kendra offers rooms at reasonable rates & good facilities.
