| Batlin Chennai | 21st August 2008 | | Kanyakumari | Overview of the destination Kanyakumari is located at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent. Easily reachable By Road, Rail and air. Trivandram is the nearest airport. kanyakumari is the nearest Railway station.Food, sight-seeing and shopping Sight seeing
Our visit at Kanyakumari is 3 days around 15 people. We reached by Ananthapuri Express from chennai to nagercoil and travelled by a mini van to kanyakumari.
Day 1
Kanyakumari.
A small temple dedicated to Kanyakumari , or the youthful form of the primeval energy Shakti (Mother Goddess) is located on the seashore, in the town known by the same name. Kanyakumari represents the site where the spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda spent days in meditation upon a rock off of the coast. A memorial built in his honor is accessible via ferry. There is also a recently built memorial to Tiruvalluvar, the author of the philosophical work.
Gandhi Mandabam & Kamarajar Mandabam are the memorial buildings of our Country father and King Maker. must be visit place once in a life time.
Evening beach games like volley ball, swimming etc.
nice stay at hotel.
Also most important seen is sun rise and sun set in a same place.
Day 2.
Check out from hotel and travlled the same mini van to Susindram Temple, Padmanabapuram Palace, Mathur Thotti palam (2 nd Highest Channel bridge in Asia), Kalikesam water falls.
All around 70 km (max) from nagercoil town.
Check in around 8.0 pm Hotel Udupi at nagercoil. Room rent is around Rs 1000/room twin sharing basis.
Day 3.
Visit to St.Xavir church, Pechiparai Dam, Chittar Dam II , Thirparapu falls. backto hotel 4.30 pm. Check out and back to chennai by Kanyakumari express.
Food : Not in the expected level. We managed by our local friend.
Shopping: Activities & things to do Interier part of kanyakumari dist we can go for trekking. nice place to enjoy for water falls at Kalikesam and Thirparapu. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. Better to reach by train or air at kanyakumari. | |
