Overview of the destination We moved from Ooty to Kodaikanal which is 280 KM distance by road and takes around 8 hours by Taxi. Kodaikanal is also connected directly to Coimbatore, which is the nearest airport and is around 300 km. Located at about 2300 mts above sea level, Kodaikanal is at its best in month of April & May. We visited in mid-March and it was a little hot during day time.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping Kodai Lake is the most famous local destination. Since we already have done ample boating in Ooty's Pykara lake & Ooty lake, it was not new for us.
What we liked most was Dolphin nose. Really hard to reach there and to get back, but once you reach that point, you feel, the pain was worth bearing.
Coaker's Walk is the another major attraction here.
Activities & things to do Sightseeing is the only available activity as far as I can recall.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. Better to hire a taxi full time. It being a hilly area, access to remote places is a little hard.
