Kolkata | 17th June 2008 | | A dream come true for jungle+tiger lovers | Overview of the destination
Ride through the jungle of Corbett is really a thrilling experience and with the sight of a BIG CAT....... a real thrill. A ride of nearly 2 hrs from the main gate of Corbett to the cozy rest house at Dhikala in an open jeep with wild life ( i.e elephants, crocodile, deers, diff. species of birds chirping ) being sighted ocassionally is something to cherish about.Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Food : There are two canteens at Dhikala. One is run by the Govt. and is a bit costlier ( i.e Rs. 150/- per meal per person ) while the other is a private and the rates are quite reasonable.
Sight-seeing : Jeep safari & elephant safari are conducted twice a day ( i.e early morning & evening) ... timings defer as per the season. The jeep can be hired and taken from ramnagar itself while for the elephant booking has to be made at the Corbett Office at Ramnagar Activities & things to do
Enjoy the jungle Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Inside the jungle.... plastic bags are prohibited, strong perfume should not be used, wild life not to be disturbed under any circumstances ...
During summer..... mornings are very hit and dry while nights are very cold and chill. | |
