Peora (off Mukteshwar) a destination less explored
Overview of the destination
It is green - covered with forest of Pine, silver-oak and rhododendron. Peora offers you with an exotic view of snow clad Himalayas, Gangotri range at your extreme left and Panch-chulli range at your extreme right. Trishul, Nandakote and Nandadevi is at your front inviting you to pay a silent homage. The wave of mountains slightly down below ends at the feet of the snow range. I must mention here about two special features of Peora those being the openness and angle of its topographic location. This is not very commonly available in the outer Himalayan region.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
This is a place completely out of the way and very few option you have for dining outside the place you are staying. The Mukteshwar belt is known as fruit bowl of Kumaon. If you are visiting in the summer you have the choice of tasting and packing fruits as appricot, apple, plum, peers and apple. You have the only option of purchasing good herbal products from Arohi a NGO working in this area. There are two health centers for an urgent attention.

Activities & things to do
Virgin nature is the attraction of the place and is ideal for a lovely family vacation and leisure without the odds of the city life. You can take a nature trail or go for short treks. Also you may visit Kausani-Baijnath-Gwaldam on a day return trip. A trip to Almora and Jageshwar also will be worth. Bird watchers will find their paradise here.
