About 3 kilometres above the mall road, right by Ruskin Bond's house and before Victor Banerjee's estate, is Sister's Bazaar. This is where nature has been extravagant with it's talent. Serene, quiet, far from the maddening crowd. Just walk along the snake like road, steep up, valley on one side until you reach the intersection where to your right is a narrow road. Come to this point at night to see the brilliance of stars on the ground. Dehradun valley from here appears to be tiny shimmering stars at night - breath- taking on a clear day. Walk till the Char Dukan which is as simple as it sounds, 4 shops snuggled together which will cook anything for you, maggi, cheese toast, porridge etc. Dun be in a hurry when you come here, let them cook at leisure, dun force them. Polite and sweet people. You are sure to see Ruskin in his balcony. Never seen Victor there though.Food, sight-seeing and shopping
No shopping here folks except a tiny shop with all the goodies that you can imagine (firang stuff too), Prakash'S shop. and a tiny handicraft shop which in my opinion is slightly expensive.
Apart from this no dhabas, no crowd no nonsense. Just walk and you will feel the world swinging with you. Activities & things to do
Leisurely walks, lal tibba sight seeing point. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
When you reach musoorie at th mall entrance point, take a right up the road through the market, Ask anyone the way to reach Sister's bazar, they will guide you. | |
