Matheran Experience: Matheran is a wonderful romantic place to go to with your friends and loved ones. The temperature is very cool and the scenery that you can see along the way is mind blowing. all you can see is mountains and greenery.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: I always stay at Cecil Hotel, which is owned by a Parsi gentleman. The place is too good. There are lots of places to visit like Heart Point, Sunset Point, Echo Point, Monkey Point. You should never miss the beautiful sunset. Well, you get these beautiful footwear at cheap rates, mostly ethnic and gorgeous jewelry too. I found the food very tasty and spicy here, overall, very nice.

Activities & things to do: You can go for horse riding, trekking.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can take a train to Neral and then take a cab (Rs.60 per person) which reaches you till the entrance and then you can either take a horse or go walking which makes it all the more fun. Beware of the monkeys who will snatch away anything that you carry in your hand and also avoid wearing bright clothes as the soil is red and can stain your clothes and footwear.
