"Awesome weather"

  • 7.0/7

Excellent trip. Never heard of this place before planning for it. Was excited to see what's waiting. When we reached Madikeri it was raining huge. It was all wet. People who don't like rain beware. But we liked the weather. Even though we didn't step out to roam or visit places of interest. We were very happy being inside.
The resorts location was awesome.

"Found Peace Here"

  • 5.5/7
  • Posted Oct 4, 2013
Over all experience was very good Nisargadhama is the place that i really enjoyed. Infact i was lost in the park and took a whole round of river. Dubare is the place where they really take care of Elephants well and they have trained them to be politely and loving.
Religious place like Bhandeshwara temple, Talakaveri, Omkareshwara temple were so devotional, really found peace in those places.
Raja seat in a good view point.
Will come once again to visit these places and the left out places.

"Good place for a weekend trip!"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Sep 27, 2013
I loved this place the minute we entered the town by bus. Local scenic beauty was like any other hill station in North India but places like Abbey Falls, Dubbare and Raja's seat made it a memorable visit. However, 2 days are more than enough for this place, unless you want to disappear in its green scenic beauty like a grasshopper in grass. However, I must add that I went to Kodaikanal too and when it comes to scenic beauty, Kodiakanal is the winner. But Coorg definitley deserves one visit!

"Nature in abundance"

  • 5.5/7
  • Posted Sep 25, 2013
This is a good hill station turned commercial. Nature in abundant just a km outside the town. Within the town you have the Omkareshwar temple, Raja seat, fort. Just outside are places like Bhagamandala, Talacauvery, Abbey falls on one side and Dubare, Tibetian Golden temple and Nagarahole on the other side. Food is normally a problem for vegetarians. Don't expect very good restaurants or we have missed it in our trip. Most of the places are walkable if you are enthusiastic to walk. If you can get some homestay go ahead but that is preferred for the adventurous and not for family with kids who need additional amenities to play around. So in the homestays you can go trekking within the coffee plantations. The only way to reach this place is by bus or by own transport.
