"Bandhavgarh National Park"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Dec 9, 2011
We went to see the Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh after our visit to Khajuraho Temples. We spent about three days in Bandhavgarh taking four jeep safaris to visit the park to see the wild life. Safaris are in the morning, 7AM to 10 AM and in the afternoon 2 PM to 5 PM. The park is very big and there are several entrances to the park taking you to different areas of the park. The park is fabulous to say the least and there is a rich wild life of tigers, deer, cheetals, wild boars, monkeys, langoors, cranes, blue jays, neelkanths, green pigeons, kingfishers, etc. You won't be disappointed and would want to go there again and again. Additionally, the natural scenery is superb and sunrise and sunsets are a beauty to watch.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: For most of the time we stayed in the park and the rest of the time was spent at the resort where we were staying. There was no time to look around for shopping etc. It is not the place for shopping - you go there to see the wild life and tigers in the park.

Activities & things to do: Visit Bandhavgarh National Park and Bandhavgarh Fort.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: As we went to Khajuraho first, we took a taxi from there to Bandhavgarh. It's about 4 hour or so drive between the two places. Returning from Bandhavgarh to Delhi, we went to Katani by car and took an evening train from Katani to Nijamuddin(Delhi), arriving by 10 AM or so. Travel time between Bandhavgarh and Katani by car is about 3 hours. There is a train available to Delhi from Umaria also which is only 30 km from Bandhavgarh.

It was great place to visit .. good for those who love jungle and nature.. there is great chance to see the tigers here.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Nothing extra to see other than Jungle Safari.

Activities & things to do: If your in group you can enjoy your own activities or depend on your resort to provide some from their end.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Very distant and remote place hence have to make our own travel arrangement.

"Wonderful Place"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jul 10, 2011
Bandhavgarh is a wonderful place where we have seen so many wild animals such as Tigers, Leopards, Spotted Deers, Sambher Deers and many more. We have taken Elephant safari at this place. The forest of Bandhavgarh is very beautiful covered with Bamboos and Sal Trees. Cheshpur water fall is an additional beauty of Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh National Park is situated in a small village - Tala at Umaria district.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We have taken food only at GTV Resort which was very tasty and hygienic so we never tried to take food at Dhaba's.

Activities & things to do: You can enjoy camp fire at night and go for nature walk on day hours on foot. Alywas wear light colour clothes, if possible green colour to mach nature. Beware of brokers.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Katni is 100 Km. but you have to book taxi in advance.

"Paradise on Earth."

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted May 19, 2011
Bandhavgarh is a paradise on earth. This is a real National Park with full of nature. There is no shortage of water in summer also, so wildlife viewing is so nice specially 'Tigers'. This park is full of wildlife. We saw 4 tigers at a time and unlimited 'Spotted Deers' and so many other wild animals, river and hills.
Once reaching Bandhavgarh we feel fresh air which never available at metro, so we were wishing to stay more and more nights here.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We have taken food at Golbro Tiger View Resort. The food quality was so good and service was also good.
Main sight seeing is Jungle jeep safari which we have taken for 5 times and saw so many wild animals, but one place is also very good that is 'Cheshpur Water Fall' which is 50 Km. from Bandhavgarh, you don't miss this palce, for visiting this place you ask to front manager of Golbro Tiger View Resort and I sure they will arrange a visit for you.

Activities & things to do: Main activity is Jungle Jeep Safari and when you go jungle in jeep you must have a bottle of water because there is no availability of drinking water in forest.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Umaria is 32 Km, Katni is 100 Km., Jabalpur is 200 Km. and Khajuraho is 225 Km..
You must book your all tickets previously and also taxi from Railway Station or Airport to Bandhavgarh, Your resort will help you to book taxi.

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted May 4, 2011
Bandhavgarh is a dream destination for wildlife lovers. It's densly populated with Tigers. Tala Zone No. 1 is the place where we can see tigers easly. This place is a complete place for Nature and wildlife.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Shopping is nothing here but sight seeing is much more, You can walk or get jeep or elephant safari here. Food is problem here but there is one place where you can get good and homly food, that is GTV Resort, which is near to petrol pump.

Activities & things to do: Jeep and elephant safai, Museum visit, Nature walk and Chesh Water Fall visit. It\'s important to book Tala zone safari before 30 to 45 days, because it's not available instantly.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can reach Bandhavgarh by road from Umaria station (32 Km.) or from Katni Station (100 Km.) or from Jabalpur/Khajuraho Airport (225 Km.)
