"Beautiful Pink City - Jaipur"

Jaipur Experience: Jaipur is the first planned city of India, located in the desert lands of Rajasthan. The city that once had been the capital of the royalty, now serves as the capital city of Rajasthan. The very structure of Jaipur resembles the taste of the Rajputs and the Royal family. Jaipur was planned by Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya, a Bengali architect, in a grid system with wide straight avenues, roads, streets and lanes and uniform rows of shops on either side of the main bazaars, all arranged in nine rectangular city sectors (chokris). The city itself is an attractive creation worthy of universal admiration.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food: You can have all type of meals in almost all categories of budget. Sight-seeing: • Hawa Mahal • Jantar Mantar attracts thousands of tourists every year. • City Palace • Ishwar Lat • Central Museum • Birla Planetarium • Amer Fort • The Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur • Lakshmi-Narayan Temple • Jalmahal - (6 kms) • Rambagh Palace • Maharaja Palace Jaipur • Gaitor - (6 kms) • Jaigrah Fort - (15 kms.) • Nahargarh Fort - (15 kms.) • Galta- (10 kms.) • Motidoongri • Laxmi Narayan temple • Maharani ki Chatri • Sisodia Rani Garden- (5 kms.) • Vidhyadhar Garden- (5 kms.) • Kanak Vrindavan- (6.5 Kms on the way to Amer)
Activities & things to do: Jaipur offers one of a kind shopping experience with its rich treasure of bewitching jewellery, beautiful gems, semi precious stones, kundan and minakari work (enamel work on gold). Beautiful cotton fabric including sanganeri prints, tie-dye, and fine kota doria sarees are the best buys for women. The exotic blue pottery, enamelware and brass ware, make excellent souvenirs and gift items. The city is also famous for woolen carpets and cotton rugs, as are the leather footwear, especially that embroidered jooties. The famous shopping spots are Rajasthali (the Rajasthan Government showroom on MI Road), Johari Bazaar, MI road, Nehru Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar and stalls at Bari & Choti Chaupurs. The markets are generally closed on Sundays.
