"Mysore Dasara and a trip to Brindavan Gardens is a lifetime experience."

We had been to Mysore during the world famous Dasara this year. It was my childhood dream to watch Mysore Dasara live which I could accomplish this year. Despite huge crowds milling on the streets by every minute, we could get fantastic view of decorated elephants, tableaux from different regions and finally golden howda mounted on elephant carrying Goddess Chamundeswari was a treat to watch. We also visited Brindavan Gardens, took a boat ride, watched musical fountains and laser show. Truly it was riot of colours and a lifetime experience, which we will cherish for long.

"Brindavan the best feeling ever"

  • 4.2/7

Brindavan garden, one of the best place to visit in Mysore. It look awesome at the evening time. As the name says Brindavan is just not a beautiful garden, it is spread in acres of land so those who love to walk in the evening will love it I'm sure about that. The garden filled with architecture beauty and sculptures moreover there are a lot of things to buy near the path of garden which includes spicy, mouthwatering fish items and in the evening you can see the laser show in the water fountain. Even though Brindavan is a crowded place we can feel the calmness around there.

"Well Maintained garden"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Aug 11, 2017
Brindavan Garden has been famous among tourists for a long time now. It is a huge garden with lots of fountains. Post 7pm as it gets darker they lit up the garden and hence it is so beautiful to see the lights on the fountain. I am not a garden person so I did not enjoy as much. But definitely a well maintained one.

Advice to the traveller - If you are not a garden person then you can skip this place. It is not extraordinary and it is very far from the city center.

"Nothing like what it used to be"

I really wonder why this place is even on a list of places to be visited. Place is not maintained well. The fountains do not work. The only positive thing is that they don't charge you for parking the car.

"Outdated"

Brindavan Garden is nice but musical fountain is outdated ... It was same as I visited 10 years ago .. No updating with time and technology .. If you really wanna Enjoy musical fountain you must visit Akshardham Gandhinagar Gujarat and Akshardham Delhi. You can't spend more than 1 hr. Click some pics, enjoy the garden view and come back.

Brindavan Gardens is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mysore frequented by tourists throughout the year. Brindavan Gardens was once called as Krishnarajendra Terrace Garden.

Brindavan Gardens is situated towards the north west of Mysore, at a distance of about 20 km from the city. It is located below the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam, which is popularly known by the name KRS. Krishnaraja Sagar Dam or Kannambadi, which was named after Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, was constructed during 1924 – 1932 by Sir M. Vishveswariah.

Brindavan Gardens is spread over sixty acres. The Shalimar Gardens of Kashmir was the model for Brindavan Gardens. Brindavan Gardens has beautiful lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees and numerous pools and fountains.

There is a pond in the middle of the gardens, where tourists often go for a boat ride around the statue of Goddess Cauvery. Brindavan Gardens becomes a major attraction during the evenings when the whole garden is lit up with colourful fountains.

The Brindavan Gardens are illuminated from 7.00 pm to 7.55 pm from Monday to Friday and from 7.00 pm to 8.55 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Tourists flock at the gallery to catch a glimpse of the musical and dancing fountain which is located on the northern part of Brindavan Gardens.
