"Goddess with mystical powers"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Aug 31, 2015
The temple is of significance because they worship the Goddess in the Morning as saraswathi, Afternoon as Lakshmi and Evening Parvathi. One who gets a chance/ opportunity to visit Kochi must visit this temple. The visit to this shrine purifies your mind and peace is showered by the Goddess through turn of events in life. The Goddess here has mystical powers and can cure your mental illness and is advisable for people who is suffering from lack of peace and happiness in life.

The temple is also famous for curing people suffering from witch hunt.

"Not much crowded"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Nov 24, 2014
I have visited Chottanikkara temple before but I do not mind visiting again and again. It was a rainy day. There was not much crowd and we could easily enter the sanctum sanctorum and worship Chottanikkara Bhagavathy without any problem or hurry. We came out and decided to enter the sanctum sanctorum once again but it started raining. The area where the people stand in queue, gets water logged but it was only a minor inconvenience. We had wonderful darshans.

Chottanikkara temple is dedicated to the Goddess Bhagawati, one of the most popular deities of Kerala. Besides, this temple is also enshrined with the deity of Lord Vishnu. The principal deity in this temple is Goddess Rajeshwari, which is worshipped in three different forms. Devotees worship the deity as goddess Saraswati in the morning, goddess Badrakali in the afternoon, while goddess Durga in the evening.

Interestingly, the idol of the goddess mounted on sand instead of being fixed on the ground. The main festival of Maasi Makam is celebrated in this temple during the month of Kumbha, from February through March.
