Kochi (Cochin) Experience: Wonderful Holiday Experience. This trip has been from 10th to 14th Dec 2011. Stayed in Cochin one day each on both ways. Taken the Amet Cruise 2 nites / 3 days. Chosen Jr. Suite Cabin. Luckily got front cabin with forward sea view all the time. Cruise management is superb and the sightseeing in Cochin and Lakshdweep has been fantastic. Overall it has been value for money and effort.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Stayed at Flora Airport Hotel in Cochin which is just opposite to Cochin International Airport. Very nice hotel. The rooms are neat and comfortable. More importantly the staff are genuinely cheerful and helpful.Sightseeing in Cochin was limited to Fort Cochin beach where the unique Chinese nets are used for fishing. The Sunset on the beach is breath taking.The Cruise has been life time experience. The Ship management in terms of passenger safety and comfort is excellent. The food and entertainment on board has been fantastic. The Blue clear sea waters of Lakshdweep and white sand beaches are treat to eyes.Visited the birth place of Sri Adi Shankara who was born in 788AD and has been greatest spiritual guru in India. It is very peaceful and pious.

Activities & things to do: Good for family excursions. Book well in advance.Carry a good camera and shoot as many pictures of sea as you can including sun raise and sunset.Children have a separate area of their own to play .Must carefully listen to the briefing of captain about safety and security. There are several water sports arrangements on Lakshdweep for youngsters.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The Fort Cochin beach is unfortunately not very clean. Way side food stalls do not look very hygienic. But you can certainly have lots of coconut water and eat tender ones.One needs to be dressed properly for stepping into motor boats from the main ship for excursion to Lakshdweep. The Ship authorities and boatmen take extreme care in this operation.
