"Good nice serene and still keeps the authentic look of a village."

The place is nice. Still keeps the authentic look of a konkan village that people go there for. Not so much commercialized is a good thing that people can move out of their daily chaos to find peace and serenity. The beaches are nice and clean. And in the monsoon the place has a beautiful landscape to see.

"Nice place esp. For families"

  • 6.0/7

Ganpatipule is a nice town with the temple as its main attraction. Important and beautiful temple with serene and peaceful surroundings, best to visit from 5 to 8am to avoid crowds. The town is clean and easy to navigate, with some good hotels and restaurants. Beaches on Ratnagiri road are good for photography however the water is not suitable for wading with rip currents and pits. If visiting in summer it is the best place to get Ratnagiri mangoes.
Overall very good destination for families interested in heritage and nature. Amusement-park type crowds should keep away.

"Queen of Konkan Darshan - Ganpatipule, Pilgrimage & Sea Beach Masti, both."

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Feb 20, 2017
Ganpatipule is a centrally located place in whole length of Konkan. Rich with long spread sea beaches, comparatively cleaner beaches, and you can have a sea Bath / Masti at the Temple beach as well.
A beautiful sunset view you can enjoy at the beach, right in front of the Lord Ganesha Temple.
Nearby beautiful sea beach landscapes exist at the Aarey-Warey beach, which spells out to be a very appealing sea-shore, silent, clean, enjoyable & quite playful.
All types of food is available at Ganpatipule, including the eateries for shelving connoisseurs & it depends on you alone, to how to satisfy your taste.
Ganpatipule is mainly approachable from Ratnagiri, which is 32 Kms away by shortest route ( via the Aarey-Warrey route).
From Ratnagiri, basically there are 3 routes to reach to Ganpatipule & pre-knowledge of the roads are quite essential.
Common man's best choice is to use the ST bus, which may cost Rs. 33/-, 45/- or 65/- per head depending on the route chosen by the bus.
Private Auto is available who charge Rs. 500/- per trip. I found it as risky to travel by Auto since roads are fully hilly and dangerous, enroute, though quite a lot of travelers use Auto as a reaching medium, since the frequency of ST bus is limited & the ST administration is Not so co-operative & informative as well.
There should be absolutely no problem for Private 4-wheelrs or Taxi commuters, who wish to reach here by their choices vehicle, which is always enjoyable & comfortable.
You can really have a full Konkan darshan, if you indulge in travelling through the interior roads, where the landscape is fully enriched with the thick clusters of Mango trees [mostly the Konkan famous HAPUS ( Alphanso) mango], Cashew trees, & other floriculture which is amply spread over the area, wading your way through the villages, & your charm gets multiplies when you are visiting when there is a serene fragrance of Mango & Cashew flowering all over the places.
Just a sincerely enjoyable destination for any nature loving individual or couple or even for groups.

"Konkan Beauty"

Decided to take a trip to Ganapatipule when we bought our new car the Toyota Innova Crysta. Was just the best choice! The drive to Ganapatipule with the mountains on one side and the sea on the other is just amazing. We took the trip in August when the monsoon was still on and the lush green against red soil was a picture perfect backdrop.
You can visit the Swayambhu Ganapati Temple and the Twin beaches of Aare and Waare, for sea food lovers the small local restaurants by the beach serve freshly cooked catch from the sea ... Yummy!
Visit the Jaigad fort while you're there, in ruins and not taken care of at all, but good photo ops.
We stayed at the Green Leaf Resort as it is a part of the Club Mahindra group, not too good but decent. Food at the hotel was pathetic suggest you eat outside.
If you love road trips this is one you shouldn't miss from Mumbai to Ganapatipule!
