Visakhapatnam Experience: Vizag is all about Beaches and Hills !!

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: It has some of the best beaches on the East coast. Particularly, Rushikonda is my favorite. The waters are clear and the Beach itself is very clean. And most importantly, its not crowded at all !! Another good one is RK Beach. Its also a clean one, but the waters are a bit murky here. You can get an excellent view of Dolphin's Nose from here... I likened this beach to Santa Barabara in California... Both have a similar setting of Sea on one side and Mountains on other..:-) Though the prior one is very much 'Indian' !! The Eastern Ghats are another attraction here... Araku valley, Tyda, offer a picturesque view that is worth watching. Particularly the APTDC resort in Tyda is a very novel idea. Another MUST SEE place is Borra Caves ... These are the limestone caves more than a million years old... The Train Journey from Vizag to Araku is a also a treat !! Other places of attraction in Vizag are Kailasgiri Hills (Dont miss the rope way ride), Submarine museum and Temples !! Overall Vizag is a good place for the budget traveller.. High end tourists may not find vizag as the place to be ...
