This is a very beautiful temple. There are timings for Darshan and Aarti. It is huge temple. It has pure veg restaurant. They don't serve onion and garlic. And food made in pure ghee. Rate is reasonable. When Mumbai visit at least once this temple.

"Temple of Krishna"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Mar 15, 2016
It is temple of Krishna and the temple just awesome with the "craft, design and marble finishing" is beautiful. From the busy and Hectic life of Mumbai the temple gives so much relief. The best time to visit the place is at the time of "evening aarti". At that time the "Krishna Nagarjuna dance" with all devotees is so mind and "Stress free dance" in the temple and must to be experienced by everyone. And other main attraction of the temple is "Govindaraju restaurant" which is apart of the temple which offers vegetarian buffet and the food is so good with Indian and international varieties" and the timings are from 10:00am to evening 4:00pm", and the price is also reasonable.

This temple is near Girgaon Chowpatty. One can get taxi from grant road station or can walk. It's 10 minutes walking distance from station. Temple is very marvellous and must visit place. There is special programme at Thursday of 2 hours followed by food. Please attend the programme as it boosts the mood and relaxes the mind.

Iskcon Temple in Mumbai is one of the 400 Iskcon temples across the world. ISKCON stands for International Society of Krishna Consciousness. Established in 1978, this temple is also known as the Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple. This name dates back to the fact that the temple was established under the Hare Krishna Movement founded by his Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Made of white marble, Iskcon Temple is very spacious and has an inbuilt publishing house, guest house and a restaurant serving Vaishnavite food. The walls of the temple are adorned with beautiful paintings. Aimed to preach the sayings of Bhagwad Gita, this temple has Radha Rasabihariji as its presiding deity.

The best time to visit the Iskcon Temple us during the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birthday, which falls in the month of August or September. Millions of devotees from all over the world visit the temple during Janmashtami. Daily spiritual courses are also available in the temple, a major highlight of which is the robot show demonstrating religious knowledge.

Nearest train stations to the temple are Vile Parle (West) or Andheri (West). From either of the two, auto rickshaws and taxis are available to travel to the site.
