Mount abu is wonderful hill station which provides wholesome package to families or individuals or Groups going on vacations. Enchanting hills to Beautiful Nakki Lake to Divine Ambuda Devi Shakti peeth to World Heritage in out of the world Dilwara Jain Temples to Spiritual Brahmkumari Ashram to Adventure sports to mesmerising Sunset point. It was really pleasing to travel on very beautiful road from Udaipur. Weather was just awesome. Winter sun was very warm and relaxing. A must visit place.

"Overpriced, Chilled, Relaxing Mount Abu"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted 3 months ago
Mount Abu is a good place to visit. During Diwali there is a huge rush in the city and one should be very careful. There are very good view points in Abu which one needs to visit, Dilwara Temples, Arbuda Devi Temple, Sunset Point, Gurushikhar and Most likely Nakki Lake.

The place is heavily crowded during diwali and hence once should skip travelling during the diwali. Actually this place is meant to be a very quiet and relaxing place. But since this is a budget holiday place, there are lot of people which are very troublesome. Mostly 90% of the crowd here is Gujarati.

There are many food stalls in the nakki lake market. Which are very good. Depends on the type of food you want to eat. I will summarise as below. :

Fast food - Vadapav, Dabeli, Sandwich - Jay Bhavani Vadapav

Fast food - Pizza - Dominos

Fast Food - Sandwich, Burger, CHole Puri, French Fries, Garlic Breads - Havmor Restaurant

Punjabi food - Honest Restaurant, Arbuda Family restaurant

Breakfast - Mehsana Nasta House and nearby area.

While Visiting Abu do not miss the famous Rabdi and Hot Kesar Milk which will be found at almost every corner of the road.

Now about activities -

Visit Nakki lake and enjoy the boating. It is very costly - 1200 rs per boat for 4 people. But it is a nice activity

Visit Sunset Point - Very crowded place and you have to walk almost 2 km to get to the peak to enjoy sunset.

Visit Dilwara temple - it is a nice historic place.

Visit the Brahma Kumaris bhavan - nice quiet and a pillarless auditorium.

Visit Arbuda devi Temple - about 350 steps "all heart patients do not try and visit this place" The steps are almost about 350 so you need to walk a lot.

Visit GuruShikhar.

We went to Abu by road. It is a pleasant journey. Self driving can be a bit risky. But drive slow and honk at appropriate intervals. The roads are very well maintained. Do not visit during the holidays as you might get struck in traffic for hours and you would not enjoy Mount Abu due to heavy traffic rush. The police is quite cooperative. But sometimes the drivers create Nuisance by haphazard driving.

Lovely and Popular Hill station in Aravalli Range, Guru Shikhar Temple (is the highest point of the Aravalli Range), Nakki Lake truly defines romance in Rajasthan. Named as Love Lake of Mount Abu. Go for a cherished honeymoon to Mount Abu, the hilly retreat at Rajasthan.
