Kumbakonam Experience: We had to visit 5 navgraha temples out of 9 at kumbakonam as suggested by our astrologer. We driven by car to kumbakonam via salem , namakaal route to kumbakonam we reached in 7 hours. We started at 5.00am morning from bangalore & reached kumbakonam at 2.00pm. We stayed at Kumabakonam homestay very good accommodation . Tariff we paid Rs. 1100/- inclusive of all taxes for 3 adults , double bed room A/C, Dinning hall etc. I strongly recommend this home stay. Never take hotel accommodation near bus stop & other city.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: If you have any special navagraha pooja to perform. Best time to visit temples 8.00 am, 12.00noon & 4.00 pm. If you plan you can cover 3 temples in a day & complete your spl pooja. General pooja you can cover all navagraha temples in two days. Our exp to kumbakonam : We started bangalore at 5.00am in morning & on the way to trichiy we visted Sri rangam temple but it was crowded & darshan was closed. We reached kumbakonam around 2.00 pm & stayed at Kumbakonam home stay. The same day we visited rahu temple & suriyanar temple perfomed our spl pooja after dinner we were back to room at 9.30pm. Next day early morning we started at 6.00am & reached thirunallar 7.30am on the way you find good small hotels for breakfast. We had perform oil abishikam. 9.00am was the time given after performing oil abishikam from thirunallar we reached suriyanar koil 30 kms from thirunallar we reached at 11.00am & we had to perform milk abishikam we paid 750/- for milk abishikam & pooja was at 12.30pm we completed pooja at 1.30 pm & back to kumbakonam at 3.30 pm after having our lunch on the way. We vacated the room at 4.00 pm and reached thingaloor at 5.00 pm after pooja from thinagaloor we reached bangalore around 12.30 mid night. We have covered 1150 kms included local trip & bangalore to kumbakonam & back.

Activities & things to do: Activites only to visit temples. For childrens it is sick.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Route we had taken is Salem, namakaal , Trichy, from bangalore. Toll gate fees we paid was around 250/- to reach kumbakonam. I recommend the above route.
