Nice place to visit ... Comfortable climate. Lots and lots of development. Hudge malls, better tourist places. Its a fast growing developmental city. More and more industrial centers here. Rapid urbanization here. Unfortunately, it has very few devotional centres.

"Cool City - nice place to visit"

  • 5.0/7

This is a nice place to visit. A city which has cool weather all the year round. Being a two tier city all locations are close by & easily accessible. Couple of things which one must not miss include :
1. Isha Yoga : This is an vast mediation place developed by Jaggi Vasudevji where you can go & meditate. Also this location houses three shivlingas made up of mercury & has a medicinal value.
2. Temple of Murugan on the hill Marudumalai : this temple can be visited as a spiritual location or else also can as a trekking as their are more than 1000 steps to climb up & both the sides are uphill. This is an most ancient temple & must visit. Here also they have a then wherein you can go & meditate.
3. Shopping of southern sarees : This is an hub for shopping south indian silk or cotton sarees. I indulged in south cotton sarees, as they offer unusual designs. Their are manufacturers of south cotton sarees which offer you vide varieties & thus must visit few of them.
4. Last but not list for foodies you can pamper yourself with traditional south indian chatnies, spices, sambhar masalas, hot chips of all kinds & last but not list pickles of anything & everything you can imagine of to taste.
I went by flight thus would recommend traveller to travel by train & travel light with minimum luggage.

Excellent trip to Coimbatore from Chennai by air. The flight was on time and reached destination as per scheduled time. The service provided inside was good. However like other flights lunch could have been provided for the paseengers. Needless to say that there was no jerks at the time of landing at Coimbatore

"My trip to Coimbatore"

Manchester of Tamil Nadu. Yes, may be or may be not, but I like the culture and dignity of the people. One of the favorite place to visit to enjoy good whether and food. Very short distances to travel any place inside the city within 45 minutes. The city is carved with old and new buildings that will say its ancient itself. In Coimbatore, you must visit Brookefields Mall, Fun Mall, Marudhamalai temple. Especially, the temple at Marudhamalai in the midst of the nature is breathtaking and holiness of god. I had a shopping at RS puram, which was the favorite shopping destination, which is very near to center of the city. You can find every big brand showroom in one road as you like to shop and dine. I had a wonderful time eating at the restaurant in a Brookefields Mall called ID. This restaurant is South India's award winning restaurant, but many people find it costly, but filling your stomach, no problem of cost. The quality of the food is very good and neat. My sincere advice to those who is yet to visit Coimbatore is that you have trains from Chennai and from other parts of South India very frequently from morning to evening. By Roadways, you can always rely on Buses from other parts of the city. I suggest always prefer a train travel that will make you feel very good.
