Thekkady(Periyar) Experience: Thekkady is a beautiful plantation Town with Periyar Reserve Forest. We were staying in Periyar House (KTDC) Jungle Resort. The resort is inside the Jungle.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Ktdc arranges jungle safari by boat only. Cost is Rs 150/- per head. Besides you can do the plantation trip on Elephant. You can do the Jungle trekking in night ( from 11 p.m to 1 a.m with guide) and you can enjoy Kathakali dance and Kerala Martial Arts in the evening time. But if you are staying in Periyar house and Aranya Nivas you have to take special permission because the jungle gate used to close 6 p.m everyday.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We have come from Munnar . It is a four hours journey. We are having our own car.
