Food, sight-seeing and shopping: All the resorts serve good kerala food. Great places for sight-seeing like Pookote Lake, the pre-historic Edakkal caves, Tholpetty forest reserve etc. Its not a typical shopping place. Its the experience that counts.
Activities & things to do: Trekking & exploring. Visiting Tea & Coffee plantations, forest reserves etc.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Closest Airport & Rail head is Calicut. Wayanad is about 75 kms from Calicut. You can hire a taxi or take a bus. Its a 6 to 7 hour drive from Bangalore if your based in Karnataka. Its also a 4 to 5 hour drive from Coimbatore if your based in Tamil Nadu.
