Gangtok Experience: Scintilllating sikkim ! that's what i would like to call this small state nestled in the north eastern corner of India.The people in this part of India are warm and friendly,the natural beauty is absolutely stunning ,the food is good and the place is safe.The climate is cool here (we did not find fans in our rooms and neither did we need it).overall a good place to dash to if you wish for a peaceful holiday.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You find all the type fo foods here.there are many marwari restaurants which serve pure veg stuff )as also many cafes which serve delightful momos and thupka ..the zoological park is not to be missed with the red faced panda as the biggest attraction.theres also the himalayn mountaineering instiute which gives us a peak into the mountaineering history of india.the mg road at gangtok is a delightful walking plaza and is spic and span.the 3c restaurnat here sells good food.you can also shop for all your fashionable garments,shoes bags from this place.Also dont miss the baku (traditional sikkim dress) which can be brought here.souverniers like dragons,china clay potteries etc can be taken home too.sikkim pickles,wines and liquers are also quite famous.we also get hte famous dalle khusani chilles which were the most pungent chilies in ht w world till recently
Activities & things to do: From Gangtok we can move to the Nathu la pass which is the indo chinese border and a treat to watch.we also go for a helicopter ride over gangtok from the mg road tourism office.leisuresly activities include shopping for woollens,westerns ,shoes bags,artfacts and souveniers etc.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We can reach Gangtok via Bagdogra airport.Travel light and people with mtion sickeness should carry some medicines along as the route is a bit mountaineous.no warnings .enjoy!
